Villain is 40/3/0 so far, 30 hands, af like 1.

He reps something strong, so should i perhaps check ott and hope he bets? River ofc pairs ... c/f with such great odds? He might have a set, but he might have a worse str8?

I would start by cbetting. Co can have tonnes of low suited junk. Bu is behind so it's unlikely we are getting bluff raised much.

As played, turn looks good. River is ch/f. No reason to think he turns worse straights into bluffs by betting them on this river. Also , if he has a straight then he must have semi bluffed raised the flop but this seems unlikely for 40/3 guy.

You are never a dog also. At least you have 40% equity... And if you call a raise, you may stop action if a str8 card hits.

If villain shows up with KQJ/KQT then you are going to be a dog. You really want this flop to be multiway and the problem with leading out is someone might isolation raise you. The more people see the turn, the more EV you make.

I agree that river is a check/fold because there is no flush draw on the turn. Unfortunately villain might have KQ as well and realise he can shove you off the river but often they just check it back.
