Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

BTN: $54.73 (109.5 bb)
SB: $87.88 (175.8 bb)
Hero (BB): $97.52 (195 bb)
UTG: $64.30 (128.6 bb)
MP: $69.89 (139.8 bb)
CO: $88.78 (177.6 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4 A
3 folds, BTN raises to $1, SB folds, Hero calls $0.50

Flop: ($2.25) 9 J A (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $1.41, Hero calls $1.41

Turn: ($5.07) K (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $4, Hero calls $4

River: ($13.07) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $8.23, Hero raises to $25,

Villain opens 45% and folded 1/1 btn to a 3bet so maybe it was best to 3bet bluff pre

His cbet stats are 72/60/100

On the turn i decided to check call and check raise any river given his barelling stas and even if he had a decent hand he would have a hard time calling with anything but the nuts because its such a strong play .

Does my line make any sense?

Hey Maritsula,

Mathematically it's a defend pf vs min-raise. In practice I don't mind just turning it into a bluff as you mentioned.

You have to at least call flop.

Hand is likely strong enough to call again on turn vs wide turn barrel range. The awkward part is that your turn odds are not your true odds since you are facing a river bet so often.

I think your river line is pretty decent here. I also think it is fine to under-defend preflop vs a guy who barrels way too often postflop.
