BTN: $59.36 (118.7 bb)
SB: $55.06 (110.1 bb)
BB: $28.22 (56.4 bb)
UTG: $50.75 (101.5 bb)
Hero (MP): $56.17 (112.3 bb)
CO: $24.77 (49.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9 9
UTG folds, Hero raises to $1.50, CO folds, BTN calls $1.50, 2 folds

Flop: ($3.75) 8 9 J (2 players)
Hero bets $2, BTN calls $2

Turn: ($7.75) 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, BTN calls $5

River: ($17.75) 3 (2 players)
Hero checks,

Villain is 17/14/6 (10% 3b otb)

Flop/turn i woud prefer larger bets to get more value from draws.

On the river i opted to check as a club is an excellent card for him to bet any missed straight draws

But reviewing the hand i saw that he was WTSD 34 which is very high so it might best to bet river as well?

Hey Martisula,

We can partially discount 2pair + set combos from his range since he'd likely raise flop on this texture.

9x will often raise turn.

River range is busted straights, made flushes, weak one-pairs.

Best way to extract value from this range is to underbet. Hope to induce a raise from flushes/bluffs, and induce a call from weak pairs.

Yup, you are right. Well spotted.

If he had a 9 he would raise it though =D
