BTN: $49.16 (98.3 bb)
SB: $25 (50 bb)
BB: $69.40 (138.8 bb)
UTG: $159.44 (318.9 bb)
Hero (MP): $104.12 (208.2 bb)
CO: $72.01 (144 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 4 4
UTG raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, 2 folds, SB calls $1.25, BB raises to $7.50, UTG calls $6, Hero??

In this hand I wasnt sure if calling pre was a good play as i might have reverse implied odds, meaning utg would give me action with a higher set (does this make any sense? ;p)

So should we called or folded pre?

I am not very good with deepstack play yet ;p

Heya,

I think if you are capable of folding a set when the situation calls for it, you should call. You still get good value when the others. The main concern here is, like you also mentioned, overplaying a set when others have all the better sets in their range.

If you think you are more likely to overplay and not sure about the whole postflop approach, folding is better. I would definitely call for example 77 and better pairs.
