CO: 880 (29.3 bb)
BTN: 2,180 (72.7 bb)
SB: 1,860 (62 bb)
Hero (BB): 2,430 (81 bb)
MP: 1,650 (55 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with X X
2 folds, BTN raises to 63, SB folds, Hero calls 33

Villain is a reg, the type of player who steals 51% of his btn's, fold to 3bet-46%, call-46% and 4bet-12%. I believe he will have a bigger 4bet range vs me as we have aggro dynamics, but I am not sure how far he will go. So far I have about 20-25% 4bet stats vs hero having 4 hands sample.

What's your strategy to counter his exploitive high BTN steal?
-how will you adjust if you feel he starts 4betting a lot, but he is aggro post in case we decide to flat more often

if im 3betting its either with a trash blocker to 3b/fold. or a 3bet/5bet hand.

im not going to 3b a hand like KT and hate myself when he 4bets.

obv you have to defend wide vs him but try keep the pots small when he has positional advantage.

What do you mean by trash blocker? K2o or A2o? Would u rather flat A2s or 3bet it given he doesn't like to fold pre and he is very stationary post? And also-why 3bet A2o when he is not folding on 3bets a lot? FWIW, I think I rather 3bet small with KTs, KQ, QJs just to exploit hard his wide 3bet flat range. We get credit for every Ax board, When we hit, we are gonna dominate the guy cuz he flats J8s, 89s or to put it different-hands that play very well against our rag Ax, especially in position. If he starts 5betting a lot, then yeah, I guess we re-adjust and and flat those hands.

How do you treat small pairs?

Also-what will be your 3bet/5bet range with no further reads this deep? 88+, AQ+?

Also-how do we keep the pot small when we are OOP :P

Overall, what do you think of implementing a strategy of 3betting small with KTs, QJs, KQo, QTs as well as monsters-AA/KK/QQ/JJ and 3bet bigger with A2o-AK as well as a few bluffs, say J4s. But then again, what do we do with hands like 89s? Or J8s, or QTo?

I hardly ever see how we can turn profit by playing OOP vs an aggressive competent player especially this deep!

I am sorry for so many questions, but I want to make it clear in my head.

mix it up if you want, 3bet those broadways sometimes. fold to 3bet 50% still means he is folding immediately half of hte time so you should have a bluff range. pure bluff hands you dont want to see flops with. K8o etc..

my 3b/5b is dynamic. if im turning KJs into a value 3bet then im not folding to a 4bet. anything in my value 3bet range is in my 5bet range.

dont change your sizings IMO. its harder for him to play against when sizings are consistent.

small pairs i would 3b/5b or flat pre. depends on gameflow. if i feel he is going to 4bet bluff then i would 3bet to induce the 4bet with a plan to 5bet.
