t100/200 9 man

CO 6200
BTN (HERO) 3000
SB 2200
BB 1700

loose cl folds utg. I have 89 button with lp sb 33/0 and tp bb 10/0.

I mr 89, sb calls, bb folds

Flop (1000) 910J rainbow. He minbets 200, i raise 750. He calls
Turn (2500) A. He checks, I shove. He calls KK.
River (4970) 5. I lose

I raised 89 here because the bb is so tight. But because the sb is quite loose should I just fold pre?

As played, with my pair and open ended straight draw I planned to raise/call the sb on the flop. But after he just flats, is shoving the turn the right thing or should i check it back?

Also since hes passive and bet out the flop, should i just flat instead of raising?

i think i probably should have folded pre, but how would you have played this vs an lp? Is it better to check it down since he will be calling a lot of the time?

Hello sunchyme1 ,

Preflop:

Raise is fine here. I don't like shoving because of the weak SB player who is going to call us with too wide range. Min raise is fine.

Flop:

No need to raise. We got great odds to hit our draw. Why to stack off here and risk our stack when we can just call and wait to hit ?

Turn:

As played, the card is good for shove because it gives us lots of fold equity because its a scary card but if villain is a total idiot just check back and hope to hit.

Guys if you have any questions, do not hesitate to write in this thread by clicking the button or

Antoan
