I'm folding. He seems nitty, and there's no garantee that he bets a FD on flop. Even if it would be a good play. And when nits pot river they almost always have it, so I'd fold.

Hi all,

Raise quite a bit bigger preflop, make it 400-500 here.

Bet the turn. Check here if you have a spade in your hand.

As played check/folding the river seems reasonable.

Could you explain to a fish like me why a turn check is better if we have the KQ with a spade? :)
I understand that we dont need to protect our KQ as much if we have the spade but cant we valuebet vs worse spade draws + other medium hands?

Likely I would call him down, since you took such a weird line
My usual line would be either betting or c/r turn.

best regards,

The reason to check the turn is to pot control, if you have the Qs, you have not only a blocker but possibly a draw to the best flush, and as you said with no spade you're losing value for not charging him for his draws (As,AJ,AQ...) so there's no reason to check the turn with your hand.

Also 2.3x pf is kinda of smallish even to iso.

As played I would fold as I can only assume we're def beat, and if you would feel creative you could make a 400-500 blocker bet to b/f as he's tight and will raise you only with the nuts there.

Hi all,

I pretty much totally agree with beerzy. If we blockbet we can still get value from some Kx floats that we outkick on the river. When we check though, I think most of those just take their hand to showdown.
