I've had many attempts at maintaining a blog and poker bankroll. I can't guarantee that this one won't end up deep in the depths of the forum just like the other 12. Functioning only for me to have a little walk down nostalgia lane, but here I go again.
This year I've really not played much in the form of cash games, and opted for depositing when I fancied a game and mainly playing MTT's and then withdrawing if I won (which I did, more than expected).
Most of this year I've been working on myself rather than anything, keeping fit, socializing a LOT more (I was a bit of a recluse I guess). Also, personal finances are now coming together, finally sorted out most of those problems I created for myself when I was young, dumb and taking credit cards and loans without thinking of the problems I would create for the future version of myself.
Anyway, with my time now a bit more structured and organised I seem to have a lot more of it, funny how that happens, huh? So I am spending a lot of it playing poker but not really having the 8 - 12 hours some of the decent MTT's take to wade through I've moved back to cash games and wish to track my progress, I feel it's more important for cash/STT players than MTT players. But that's just my opinion as a mainly cash game player who has never looked at any MTT strategy articles in his life.
I'm only playing 6-max Zoom and nothing else at the moment, except the odd MTT when I have the time, I'm doing pretty well at Stars so far making 4.3k BB over 11k hands and an overall winrate of 39.4bb/100. With this sample size it means very little of course but it does serve to give me motivation and an added enthusiasm to play more, I've only posted 6 losing sessions in the 26 sessions I've played since depositing.
What I have learnt from all these blogs that I've started is that they always start to take a turn for the worst when:
1. I start chasing bonuses, instead of just being happy with whatever my current play unlock.
2. Setting myself goals that are outside the reach of my potential as a poker player at the time of posting.
3. I lose a few sessions in a row and start looking to in depth looking for reasons when really there is none except psychological factors and being on the wrong side of a couple of large pots.
4. I plan a big deposit and I don't follow through.
5. Keep switching Poker Rooms.
To rectify this I don't plan to set any goals, or maintain any VIP status, I'll just monitor them instead and see when I get close to the next tier if it's worth adding a few hours a week to upgrade or if I think it would be once again asking to much. Also, NO DEPOSITS OR WITHDRAWALS. I should easily be able to maintain the roll at my disposal now. I'll also be playing at Stars exclusively.
All hands so far have been played at the micros 25NL and below with the lions share being NL5, I've been using a more adaptive approach to BRM than usual. I am taking successful shots at NL25 (Only 654 hands @ 90.79bb/100) at this time, but still mainly playing at the NL5 tables (7,351 hands @ 29.23bb/100). I'm also only playing 1 or 2 tables simultaneously because I am more focused and notice more player traits and take more notes. I have no plans to add more than 2 Zoom tables.
And here's pretty much everything I just said in Graph and Stat Form! ♦

See you soon!
