Im also a mico grinder since forever, for the same reasons as you, I cashed out most of my winnings. Now I found a real life job so I wouldnt need to cash out so Im able to move up faster.

In the beginning I played 4 tables, now I play 6-9 and the redline dropped a lot. Is this something I should worry about ?

Saw an older post on 2+2 and someone said that non blind win rates of a solid 6 max grinder look like this:

December is not going as planned

Played 3/4 days this month, yesterday was poker free. I reviewed almost all my sessions and marked some hands where I feel I didn't play well. Should I post them here or at hand evaluation forum ?

Hand 3 .. bluff catch vs aggro fish he can have almost any2 so I don't know what turns & rivers to call or fold. Maybe bluff catch is better here with TPNK/2nd pair

This is the standard range with 3x open but I deviate a lot from this. For example opening smaller with short stackers/aggro 3bettors behind or drop the smaller suited connectors and add stuff like K8s Q9o, J7s with loose passive in the blinds & open 3.5x strong hands.

And what would you say is you biggest mindset leak right now. Apart from not being able to stick with one thing for a longer period of time, which is quite common but a separate issue in a way.

I think the biggest mindset leak right now is setting short term monetary goals because I need to cash-out (example: I need to make x $ until Friday ) which leads to tilt instantly when I make a bad play that I know it's bad. Also poker bad runs that last weeks or months lead to anxiety & depression.

Those 3 questions are really hard.

1) What is your #1 issue in those areas

First of all I think is important to say that I have a low energy level almost all the time. I wake up tired and I'm not in the mood to study / review sessions.

I say to myself : "I'm going out for a coffee / play some Counter-Strike or Warcraft III " and then I will read The Mental Game for example but instead I go in the kitchen to smoke a cigarette or browse some forums / watch some videos on youtube / meet with some people and so on and try to delay the task as much as possible."

During sessions if I feel bored I start listening to music / talk on the telephone / skype or quit playing earlier than I should.

I have some generic goals every month like: play a minimum of 50 000 hands & study 20 hours. I usually play somewhere between 100-110 hours / month & don't study more than 5 hours.

2) What did you try so far to resolve it?

Be healthier & get more balance in my life:

- I stopped smoking with Allen Carr's Easy Way but I didn't follow his advice and after 4-5 weeks I was back on 20-30 cigarettes a day.

- Sleeping schedule from 2 to 10 in the morning, going to the gym & then sweat a friend or study for an hour and then start playing.

- Going out less often -> drink less

- Uninstall all the games

- Drink less soda, eat a little bit healthier

- Grind without music as much as possible, put my telephone on silent mode & browse the internet less & resist the temptation of logging on skype.

3) What worked and what didn't?

I think everything mentioned above had a positive effect.

I cash-out ~ 800$ / month on average. I don't have a set BR strategy.. I cash-out only when I need money, for example If withdraw 400$, after 5 days another 100$ and after 3 days 300$.

First of all congratulations on taking massive action!

That's really interesting about your energy levels. I would suggest you track your energy levels for a couple of days (you can just set a reminder every hour or so and write down what you did during the last hour and how energized you feel).

There are probably some activities that energize you and others that drain your energy. Figure out what these are, then simply focus on doing the energizing activities before you do something important (I would suggest in the mornings) and keep the draining activities for later on.

I cash-out ~ 800$ / month on average. I don't have a set BR strategy.. I cash-out only when I need money, for example If withdraw 400$, after 5 days another 100$ and after 3 days 300$.

It really helps if you have a strategy if you want to move up which i'm assuming you do.

Calculate how much you can get by with every month. Maybe you can spend a lot less on certain things so you don't have to cash out. You can set a minimum BR of your stakes to 50 buyins and when you reach something like 60 buyins you take a shot at the higher stakes. If you lose down to 50 buyins you move down again.

Having good BR management and having a moving up strategy will help a ton if not essential to moving up the stakes. You can do it by feel but imo it's much less effective and fun.

There I decided not to 3 bet because btn has a high fold to 3b. He plays 19/14 with a low aggression factor post flop (0.8) and 43 WTSD after a small sample.

bb is a loose aggressive player after 205 hands. He plays 34/31 with 10.4 3bet (14% from bb) & 20% squeeze

On the flop I decided to ck/r him because:

1.) I wanted to build the pot
2.) This is a bad spot to bluff so I guess he's calling here with any pair & even Ace high

What do you think about my thought process & sizing.. overbet jam river was a better play ?
