Be careful about one thing: 1 video a day is quite a lot if you also take notes and think deeply about the concepts and insights. Don't make the mistake of consuming too much information and implementing only a few % of it.

Yeah you're absolutely right. One video per day is actually quite a lot, but I think it's ok since those videos that I like to watch are like 30 minutes long on the average and they aren't usually that much theory-based and I watch videos about mental game aswell.

I'm actually playing all of those, I play blaze whenever there are games available and if there isn't then I'm playing mostly anonymous tables since my hem is lagging for some reason...

Choosing poker over school was the worst decision I've made in my life. Playing poker for prolonged time sucks hard.

At least get accepted into some uni asap even if you don't plan to start actually studying there next few years, since it is much easier when you still remember stuff from high school.

Update number 1! I managed to play three sessions, first session went decently well, second was a bit bad and third wasn't super impressive either, but its ok. Lost 4 buy-ins today, I got unlucky many times and it affected to my game unfortunately. Overall pretty tough day but I managed to play decently well and I'm happy about that.

My HEM is not working on 24hpoker for some reason, otherwise I would link a few hands or something, but I'm not able to do that at the moment. I've played without HEM for some time now and it's kinda refreshing to play without hud.

I might play more later, I'm quite motivated right now! I want to play NL50 so bad!

Whys that? May I ask you Anssi. You play poker for living right? Is poker your only income stream that gives you enough money to keep living your life style? Are you living your dream life style? How long would you get by in life w/o playing poker at all?

+1. Without University education its difficult to succeed irl. There is no security in poker, so you need plan B imo.

I don't really play much anymore since games have got much tougher and grinding, frankly, is extremely boring. My financial situation is pretty good since I never "wasted" money I won with poker, investing it instead so I probably could go 5 years without having to do anything. I'm currently studying at uni. Main thing is you really need to earn like 150€k/year with poker for it to be more +EV than studying, since you need to cover all expenses yourself (like retirement) AND now have huge gap in CV. Starting to work at McDonald's at age of 30 doesn't sound terribly exciting.

Current games also are extremely tough, there is no easy money to be made.

(150k might sound a lot, but it pretty much is equal to 75k normal salary since normal salary comes with holidays, health care, retirement and other random perks. Just choose smart field of study (Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Biochemistry, Statistics) and be willing to move abroad and pretty much anyone can do it, no matter where they are from.)

Great to hear that you have managed to save/invest up your money This is important skill to have

But what I am after here is. Why should you find new job at age of 30 when poker is not anymore close to your heart? Why not retire before you are at age of 30? Just use the money you made in poker wisely and you will have frequently raising income to support yourself through your life? You get richer every year, you have much more free time, you don't need to work at McDonald's, you can do what ever you want (example: just make music and dont give a fuck about making money with it. Just do it because you want to do it). Its about how you use the money that you have. Investing and buying passive income sources is not time consuming stuff and you can't even compare it to poker because in poker you change your time for money but by investing you put money to work for you. The goal should be financial freedom. Independence. It's not enough that you have money inside to get by 5 years. The money should cover the exact life style you want and there should be enough money to make more money. Example. 100K. Lets say I spend 2k a month to rent, food, adventures, etc. thats 24k a year. 2 years thats 48k. Now I will get by 24 months with 48k. I have 62k left. Now my job is to find investments or some kind of stuff that will make this 62k to 120k in 2 years. After 2 years. You have 120k bankroll again. You made 20k profits, paid all the living costs and had FREEDOM. Or maybe you have passive income that makes you 30k a year. Use 20k to live your life and use the 10k to expand your passive incomes. This is more entrepreneur stuff and you should understand businesses/investing stuff little bit more. But anybody can do this and the rewards are so much higher than the rewards that come from working at a job you dont like. If you have passion about art. Go and find some art schools etc. but if your future looks like job you hate after another job you hate. Well have a happy life. In the end we all want to be happy and one big thing that makes people happy is not to wake up to a shitty job but to wake up fully free from the society.

I agree with ANSSI to the point that a guy with your intelligence should study and develop in other fields beyond poker. Studying at University is definitely one thing I would not drop for poker.

At the same time, being a corporate slave for 75k is just as bad an option as sitting in online poker rooms all day!

Whatever you do, enjoy and explore all aspects of life.

A real man can play poker, understands economics, can ride a horse, understand philosophy, can change diapers, can defend a castle, program a computer, build a house, sing a song, understands engineering, burn alcohol, write a poem, slaughter a pig, run a business, and so much more ....

I disagree that 150k in poker is like 75k in a normal job, at least where I am health care and other perks all come out of your salary (your employer or the government takes some % out to spend on that) and when you're young you are overpaying since everyone pays the same and you need it less. Also in poker you can take a vacation whenever you want.

I also disagree with this. Actually imo 50k in poker is like 75k in a normal job. You are your own boss - shorter working hours, can take a vacation whenever you want, plus you do what you enjoy! Obv if you dont like playing then its not for you...but who on this forum REALLY hates playing poker?!
