Preflop: I'm assuming you min 5-bet here to try and get villain to spew given his huge 4-bet%?

The idea is not bad and you just hit part of his stacking off range but take a look and see if he has stacked off light in the past (people that 4-bet this much tend to stack off lighter). And if you see light stack offs you can just shove pre.

something like that. trying to induce mistakes, although in terms of inducing mistakes i don't know exactly the extent of what i'm trying to do :f_o:

i'll have a look at his shoving tendencies and take note

With such bets you are inducing lighter calls or maybe shoves. But anyone with half a brain can see that you are committed with pretty much most of your range after you invest 40% of your stack.
