Hi
I am an 18-year-old guy from Denmark. I am a big fan of sports, especially soccer, as I have been playing soccer since I was a little kid. Watching all the sport at TV, I stumbled over poker a few years ago. I have always been thinking mathematical, and got my highest grades in math, so I guess it was naturally that I found poker funny to watch. After a few months where I followed poker events on and off, I began to play for fun with my friends. I had seen the pros on TV, wiping their ass in 100-dollar bills after eating one fish after another, and I remember thinking ‘how hard can it be?’ Playing with my friends it wasn’t hard, but when I started playing online (play money), I found out that poker is so much more than luck and random play – you actually had to use your mind, before you could beat the good players. This definitely made me even more interested in poker.
Just before I turned 18, I began to study poker. First the basics and later at SnG 6man and 180man. I started with a little deposit at Stars. However straight from the beginning I had to face it – I wasn’t even near the level of an average poker player, and I had to go back to the studying.
This time I actually started to play okay. I still didn’t knew what I was doing, but I won, and were happy about that. I also began to play the poker game called Badugi, which I also had a blog about here on Pokerstrategy. In the beginning, I was winning big in Badugi, but it is a very swingy game, and that the end I had to realize Badugi wasn’t the right game for me at that time. Sometimes I played games where I only had a bankroll with 1 BI… so yeah. I don’t know what is going on with Danes, and our game selection (wink wink Gus
). Therefore, I stopped playing Badugi, and therefore I quitted my blog.
Now I have been playing Zoom NL2 in a few months. So far, I am happy with the results, but I am struggling to move up. I would like to share my play, and my poor attempt to become a better player, and hopefully move away from NL2, and back to the nosebleed games I played before. But anyhow, I try to take poker really serious, about studying, improving and game selection – so I will first move up when I am 120% ready.
I will try to upload a few hands per week on this blog, and then ofcause update on my play, with graphs and stats ![]()
