Hi,
It seems that I keep losing quite a lot from the BB for over 500K hands. I play full ring Zoom at 25NL and 50NL. I am currently losing at -60bb/100 which is far from satisfying and I can't seem to find the right formula to improve my BB play.
Some stats:
(vs CO and BTN) -54bb/100
Fold to Steal: 79%
3bet vs Steal: 8%
When Cold calling vs steal my winrate is +38bb/100
When 3betting all but 88+/KQ+ it is +3bb/100
(vs SB) -77bb/100
Fold to Steal: 44%
3bet vs Steal: 11%
When Cold calling vs SB my winrate is -78/100
When 3betting all but 88+/KQ+ it is -85/100
It is obvious that I am doing way too many things wrong here. I just don't know where to start from in improving my BB play. Lately I have been trying to defend more by Cold calling (as my coach suggested) but my winrate stays the same.
I would really appreciate any advice on what to do
Although those stats LOOK terrible, if you did nothing at all, you would lose 100BB/100 -- right? (disregarding walks) So you are winning more than you're losing in BB.
If you fold BB to any steal attempt 79% that may be a bit too much.
It also depends on what the thieves open with.
Consider it from the other way:
If BTN is facing blinds that each fold 81%, that means that 66% of the time they both fold.
If BTN opens 3x and folds to resteal 100% then
in 100 hands:
66 wins 1.5 BB = 1
33 loses 3 = 99
So break even when folding to every resteal.
Since you are folding BB close to 80%, you give BU automatic profit by folding that much. And that is just for BTN -- SB and CO are after your blinds too.
Edit: I just re-read your OP, and it appears that you defend vs SB much more than against BTN and CO
I think I did the math right.
Now you just need to pick the ranges you want to defend with.
Cheers,
