Hi,

this is an interesting spot. The J does hit his range quite hard, yet i think our hand is too weak to check behind and risk giving his FD's a free card. Betting is probably the best play here. We are still betting for value at this point, getting it from his FD's, pair+fd's, and we are just making him fold some equity.

I could be checking behind from time to time though, if my gut feeling would tell me the J smashed his range; we could also make a call on many rivers given we have an OESD, so yeah checking might be a good alternative.

I'm kinda torn tbh. If we do bet, can we really fold here? We have to fold if we think he is c/r only straights here for sure, but if he is raising like QJxx we can make a call as we have the equity.

So yeah, hard to tell which play is better.

Regards,

Skod

i'd also bet. even though villain is likely a fish and doesn't think about our hand, we are perceived really strong so i wouldn't be too worried about someone jamming on us light. even if he does in this very spot, he makes a mistake against our range so even if we lose this hand to a bad c/r we make money in the long run if he keeps c/r us light here.
i fold to a jam, don't think we have enough equity against his gii range. even if he jams QJ sometimes, he too often has QJ with hearts, a straight, set or w/e which makes it a close fold imo.
