Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BU$10.00:///////;SB$10.90:///////;BB (Hero)$12.56:///////;MP2$11.20:///////;MP3$10.00:///////;CO$12.57:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7:s, A:s.
2 folds, CO calls $0.10, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, CO calls $0.40.

Flop: ($1.05) T:s, K:c, 9:s (2 players)
Hero bets $0.60, CO calls $0.60.

Turn: ($2.25) 7:d (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $1.50, Hero??.

The villain is a fish calling station with VPIP 43%/PRF 17% and Agg 1.2

I think the fold is correct, should be played this hand in the preflop or better not get in those troubles???

Many thanks

Hi kamalia81

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: You have a nut flush draw vs a fish so I'm definitely not folding especially after getting a pair. Thus we have at least a call.

The other option, which I prefer, is to bet turn small ourselves.

I like the betting first a small bet to block it and see cheaper the river.

Thank you BogdanPs,

just my 2c as a fellow amateur, but why lead out on the flop and check the turn?

- The 7 has given you even more equity in the hand most likely (could hit trips or two pair on river)

- You are drawing to the nuts, so you want to get money in the pot, it also disguises your hand.

- You could be up against a worse FD, so also have fold equity

- You give up initiative OOP, suppose you hit your flush on the river, do you suddenly lead out? I think betting the turn here means you are more likely to get called/shoved over on the river if the flush does hit

If betting turn in this hand, what to do on a shove?
If river is a blank, than we give up or should we turn our hand into a bluff?

If he is a calling station I would raise smaller preflop but otherwise follow the other advice here. That is bet flop and turn.

If he is a calling station, it means he is going to call often with worse hands, isn't there the point than to raise as much as possible to get most value of this weakness?
