0.5/1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is CO with J♣, K♣
2 folds, MP1 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, MP1 calls.

Flop: (5.50 SB) K♠, T♦, 3♠ (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.75 BB) 2♦ (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero raises, MP1 calls.

River: (7.75 BB) 7♦ (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.75 BB

Results follow (highlight to see):
Hero shows a pair of kings (Jc Kc)
MP1 shows a flush, queen high (Qd Jd)

MP1 wins with a flush, queen high (Qd Jd)

Should I have bet the river with 3-suited board or taken a free showdown? Does the fact that I had initiative mean anything?

hi strat9
looks good to me. call flop/raise turn is standard and after he just calls the turn the river is an easy value bet as well. the backdoorflush is unlikely and the 7 is a blank. his river check/raise shows quite some strengh but the pot is pretty big and he might be just bluffing with a busted draw like spades or QJ etc.
