Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

BTN: $26.38 (52.8 bb)
SB: $54.50 (109 bb)
Hero (BB): $50 (100 bb)
UTG: $50 (100 bb)
MP: $67.36 (134.7 bb)
CO: $53.95 (107.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8 A
4 folds, SB raises to $1.12, Hero calls $0.62

Flop: ($2.24) A Q 6 (2 players)
SB bets $1.25, Hero calls $1.25

Turn: ($4.74) A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.50, SB raises to $7.75, Hero calls $4.25

River: ($20.24) T (2 players)
SB bets $15.50, Hero thinks for a second...

So villain is a regular (if i remember correctly playing 3 or 4 z tables). Nothing else to say. Sample is 5h

Preflop and flop is standard i guess.

So turn was easy call, but the question is about villains range. I expected him to check/call with Qx if he bets it on the flop so i can float this turn. Also what does this raise means? Should we expect larger raise from boats?

River was quite interesting. I played around with equilab, but would like to hear judges advice. What do you think?

What villain could bet here:
1)For value;
2)As a bluff.

villain doesn't "have" to c/r big with boats because they don't need protection, though he's missing out on stacking you.
his bluffs could be random hearts and KT/KJ.

his river sizing is pretty interesting, i mean your range is like draws or Ax and who really tries to make another reg fold Ax in bvb?
that said, your range is probably capped at no QQ and no AQ so it's just a silly spot. i really wanna fold but ingame i call and lose all the time :f_biggrin:

Well, i cant have QQ, AQ due to preflop action :)

Question to you, do you bet Qx or you check/call it from the beginning?

yeah that's what i said :P you really don't have many better hands to call here but i just don't think people are bluffing like that.

on betting Qx or not i do both... if betting flop, on the turn can def switch to c/c Qx t+r on most runouts, don't see why he would turn Qx into a bluff

Thats true. Sadly that we cant have a look at his SB RFI, however he is using really small raise size which should indicate that he is quite wide in SB?

What would you expect from villains Ax type hands?

i expect villain to just 3barrel Ax and expect to get called down by Qx sometimes.
i like his line with QQ, 66 which don't block your Ax combos, though he could get away with c/r bigger and shoving river.

the way i read his line is like... ott he expects you to bet Ax and draws, and doesn't want you to fold the draws (which you probably have to do against a bigger sizing, with bad odds and the prospect of reversed implieds), otr he just decides that he wants max value from Ax.
it's just the combination of the T+R sizings which is making me feel sick, i'd feel better about calling down if he just c/r bigger ott or bet smaller otr... not sure if this makes sense

I fold river for sure.

People dont balance this line often enough with air even at higher limits, let alone nl50

I called river (lets call it for info (not a big fan of doing it)). He showed T9o. What should we think about our opponent?
