Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

SB: $36.44 (72.9 bb)
BB: $91.98 (184 bb) VPIP: 28, PFR: 21, 3B: 6, AF: 10,0, Hands: 61
UTG: $49.25 (98.5 bb)
MP: $19.52 (39 bb)
Hero (CO): $90.79 (181.6 bb)
BTN: $60.51 (121 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A K
2 folds, Hero raises to $1.50, 2 folds, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3.25) 4 8 J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($3.25) 5 (2 players)
BB bets $2.50, Hero calls $2.50

River: ($8.25) 3 (2 players)
BB bets $6, Hero calls $6

Sample is quite irrelevant here. Villain uses interesting betsizes.

So first question is about cbetting this? (I guess i would bet if i hand BDFD, which gives us a bit better barreling potential)

What should be our checking range here? (with intention to bluffcatch)

I guess calling river would be okayish if flush would have missed? Or its the other way around?

U still have 66,77 in ur range on the river which would be much better to bluffcatch. I would probably call turn give up river. If he folds over like 60% to cbet's I would cbet.

-------------

Not sure actually 66,77 should probably cbet for protection.

How does AK differ from 66,77? It beats 4x which is super small part of villains range. We could argue that he might have something like 56s since it has gutter, but thats also small part and some poeple 3bet it pre.

on such spots we have to defend the top of our range and fold the middle and lowest parts. So AK is in the middle and those pairs are on the top. But if we cbet those pairs as we prob. should (?) then AK is on the top and we could bluffcatch 2streets if we expect villain to be bluffing 2.

on cbetting - i usually cbet this with the idea of barreling broadways but i feel like results aren't that good (mostly because broadways don't seem to come that often :f_biggrin: )
on river - i think that blocker effect is more relevant for range defending when the hands have the same value against villain's polarized range.
anyway i don't see why call this otr, i'd only make a case if fd had missed. sure you beat some random oesd gs but a) you don't know his bluffing frequency b) he can vbet quite wide against your cbh

Either this or you barrel flop and turn if you are not confident that his range is wide enough for you to bluff catch twice. We are also bluff catching twice with a hand like 58s.

How does situation changes if we hold A :spade:K  ?
I guess the first change in this situation would be cbeting the flop. But im mostly interested in river.

What are good and bad aspects in such case?

If he holds A :spade: he should bluff, because it heavily reduces the possibility of us having flush (i would cbet FD most likely )

If we hold A :spade: it should mean that he is value betting most likely? And we could consider bluffraising this river?

Hi,

With the nut spade backdoor our hand is stronger and we can bet flop.

On the river we should be less likely to call because now he has less flush draws in his range. His betting range would be stronger, we could consider bluff raising because we have the nut flush blocker and the flushed completed but yet with a flush draw usually we would have bet the flop.

We could potentially bluff raise here but we need to control our bluff raising range on the river. It should be less than 50%. To go anymore than that is simply too obvious. Maybe even 35% I can't exactly recall the calculations but the number is very low.

Thanks
