i dunno, i think i'm shoving too. the board is so wet, not many safe turns. at least if you shove you are forcing villains to make a decision (hopefully not snap call + fist pump lol). its either that or take the nitty option and check/fold, i doubt that is correct in a fast structured mtt.

yeah maybe just fold pre and avoid this headache altogether.

Ok, miss click in live mtt and you gone into post flop. Postflop push all in, there no other option than that.

You can't bet any thing then all in, u are under 8bb. It's just weird mtt, sound's amazingly fishy, I suggest just keep it simple, going under 10bb your only options are fold/shove!!! forget about limping etc. it's just wrong in this stage! Particularly in this case, I suggest shove preflop, and you avoid any decisions later on, you want to win mtt no to bust in bubble, right!

Thanks for the comments badgere and Paakjis. It sounds like my first thoughts were right rather than my second. But when I analyse it bet/folding still looks good to me, when I bet 1/3 pot, if I'm beat I get raised and I can get away saving 6bb (my guess is this is 30-40% of the time?) if nobody has better than overs I still take down the pot, and if I get a single caller with a 6, even better. The only thing this line plays worse against is two clubs or 34 I think and then not much worse. I have 2/3(80k)+48k=~101k compared to 48k+64k=112k, so a loss of 11k or <2bb. So I save 6bb about a third of the time and lose about 1.5bb about a third of the time, which is pretty good. Another bad thing that might happen is I get multiple callers with overs small pairs and gutshots, but I don't think it happens that often, and I still have a little bit of equity in that spot. I'm curious where this analysis goes wrong.

In Aus there's a few amature poker leagues with weekly tournaments at multiple venues. First one I've been to and I found it quite fun. But yeah a lot of play that looked weak to me and a ridiculous amount of limping. Just before this hand I'd been moved from another table where that was happening too. In one hand had 3 limpers to me on the BTN with 25k and blinds and 1k/2k (and two of the limpers with ~20k each). I had A9o which I think is an easy shove with so much money in the middle and everyone folds. Afterwards the other were asking what I had thinking I must have a premium holding like AJs+, which makes me think either I have enough fold equity to justify pushing with any 2 or I'm not thinking about this correctly.

But I think with 4 limpers and the bb, and a couple of really short stacks I probably get called, but I guess if I only get a single caller short stacked caller I probably have slightly more than 33% equity and contribut slightly less than 33% to the pot. Is that how you're looking at it?

anyway, I really don't know anymore what would be the best move, I probably would shove post flop, only thing that worry's me is monster form one of the limper jj+ hoping someone to shove pre or 10 with higher kicker, you can get callers also from ax, a6, a3, flush draw and you are favorite \anyway. stacks are just so small u have to make a move anytime soon anyway, why not when u have top pair :\ fck weird, I am at work so I can't really think correctly now ♦
