Stealing from the button

I have alot of stats of regular players that are stealing from the button 50% to 60% at nl50/nl100 short hand.

My thinking is that they must be stealing from the button with any 2 cards, because the chance to steal from the button must be about 50% as the pot has to be unopened.
Is this correct assuming this ?

Does any know the percentage that the pot is unopened until the button, short hand 6 max?

Att. steal% is calculated how often player will raise CO/BU/SB when the pot is unopened. So if their steal% is 50% it's 50% of hands.

no. If you have stat RFI from BU and it is 50 then he did RaISE first in 50% of given chance. So in this case he did raise first in every 2nd hand only.

So a player with 50% steal from the button is basically stealing with any 2 cards ?

And does anyone know the percentage that the pot is unopened until the button, short hand 6 max?

No, he is stealing with 50% of hands. Any2 would be 100%.

EDIT: I have some old NL10-NL20 games in my database and pot has been unopened around 50% when i've been on the button.

I think the other players have it correct:
If a player shows he Raises First In 50% of the time, that is 50% of his opportunities.

As to the % of the time that the first 3 players open-fold, just look at the reverse of their raising percentages.
In Equilab, the following are given as loose open-raising ranges for
  MP2 -- 15.2%
  MP3 -- 17.6%
  CO -- 45.4%

So the chances of them ALL FOLDING are:
.85 * .82 * .55 = .38
roughly 38% of hands are unopened before the button.

If your table has looser or tighter players, then that all changes, of course.

Yup -- and I open-raise 43% from the button -- or did last night anyway.
I was trying to figure out how to get PT4 to tell me how often I took the pot down pre-flop from anywhere, but I'm not used to their filter system yet. It was very high.
