I have been playing poker for a while now, mainly SnG's, I still consider myself a beginner with some experience and some knowledge. I have been struggling getting max value from my good hands lately. I will give two examples which happened in one of my most recent $2.25 SnG's. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out.

I gave my opponents odds of 4.6:1, my opponents were - for good measure - recreational players who had 29/14 and 31/15 stats (VPIP/PFR) over a reasonable sample. I know this isn't that uncommon to see two folds here, but I feel that I have failed to get value lately, so I hope I can get some tips on how to improve on this.

I could have just called the turn, but the bet of 80 was so small that I felt I just had to raise in order to get some value. Again my opponent got a great price to call (8.25:1). Against a good opponent it might be obvious that I was trying to keep him in the hand because of the fact that I minraised, but this once again was a recreational player (33/9 stats). Once again really appreciate any thoughts, thanks in advance.
