Bluffs. Besides, you induce him to bluff and the board is just about perfect for bluffing. That said, I don't think JJ is a good enough bluff catcher if you use your hole cards for randomization. Sets are bluff catchers too.

An alternative is to bet the river yourself (small ofc). That would be a bluff designed to stop him from bluffing. It might save the pot once in a while, perhaps more than check-folding.

If he bluffs he doesn`t do it with this size. This is a thin value bet almost 100% of times.

Some players bet in this spot with high frequency with 4-to-straight on the board.

Wrong. It's an extremely profitable bluff to pull off versus people priding themselves in making big laydows because they "know" somehow that it isn't a bluff. It's virtually risk free, pays big dividends. It has a name; the Post-Oak Bluff.

If you say you are more likely to call a bigger bet than a small one, well, ...

villain might actually do this, but this is a horrible strategy.

btw i'd fold JJ here, and only call KK+. if he bets a bit smaller we could call JJ too
