Do I lose value trying to induce or is a turn check the best line.

The reason I check back is I feel like I can induce Tx to bet, 9J, KJ got there and I feel like bet bet would mean I have to fold to a raise where as a check call controls the pot and plays in my favour for implied odds. Then on the river I feel like I have his range crushed ~99.9% of the time.

[T] the problem with x/c is that ur capping ur range; u never have the nuts. so when u dont improve otr u have to x/f most of the time unless u have solid reads or plan to bluff on a spade.
furthermore, i dont think u should have much implied odds (ofc @plo2 everything is possible ). on a J u split and hitting ur fullhouse isnt really deceptive. additionally, realizing implied odds OOP is way harder than IP in general.
so id b/f ott, since ur only getting raised by KJ (at least @microstakes i feel that way) (u also have a K blocker which reduces the KJ combos), but getting value from worse hands/protecting against draws. plus hitting ur fullhouse will be way more deceptive (ofc this way ur donating the max to AA) (u also might get bare J9 to fold that way)
as played: ur getting the immediate odds to call (though i dont think he has KJ often with that bet size)

[R] imo x/r is fine here, mostly becuz i dont think villain has KJ that often becuz of his bet size. so he will bet his bluffs again and pretty much any fullhouse.

V villains value range on the flop do you think x/r is best though, I feel like he will B/F his TT hands here in which we are missing out on two streets of bet calling and it keeps his bluffs in?

I disregard AAxx and do not put the player on any strong run downs considering the UTG limp. Even AQKJ AKJTds would min raise call UTG maybe even 4 bet. I feel like his range of hands would have so many more 2 pair and pure bluffs than sets or straights. Of course he can have J9 and KJ combos but I feel like it is a very narrow part of his range and one he would raise flop with.

i think by x/r flop u push out a lot of the hands u dominate (all 2pairs, maybe smaller sets). most of the hands that have decent equity against ur hand will call, though. also, getting 3bet here with only 37% against J9 would suck.

True, it is interesting to have such a good conversation. I could fold turn after checking if it were a pot bet but 1/3rd I think I have to call, close to direct odds to get a house. But if I just barrel turn I understand it protects my value and bluff range. The issue here is that at micros people are likely checking back worse than the nuts/ 2nd nuts so my set is likely behind to any bet over 1/2 pot on turn.

So what did he have? Did he turn the straight? IF SO, how he only bet out 1/3 pot then is really bad betsizing. Anyway, yeah in the end if you donk after the board pairs, you get calls or folds combined 9/10 times and only get raised by a tiny part of his range (boats+) against which you do really well. Still curious with what hand he called off the riverraise with...

No way that is pretty sick when you put villain on draw or made straight but no you have 98% equity on the turn. Sucks that you couldnt capitalize on your top set but have you considered cbetting turn or do you think going from pot flop to check turn was the best way to go in this spot?
