BTW, 100% fold to Turn Cbet for villain that's why I avoid the cbet otherwise I would bet the Turn on my hit (with board starting go a bit wet on clubs) ...

Would be correct that scenario if I haven't such high fold % on the Turn from villain? Thank you :f_smile:

I would call the river often. Do you have stats for villain river af? Against a passive player I would fold the river

I think all his Ax in calling range beat you, 7x beat you. Calling 3 barrels is bit loose, imo.

Why are we check/calling the flop? Is it the best play there and if so, could someone explain why? I'm asking because I'm usually check/folding this (or cbetting and check/folding the turn unimproved, which is probably bad). I have a problem with not defending checking ranges enough in those situations, though.

This hand can be check/called because it's a good hand to put into our Turn check/raising range when we turn a draw. Another possibility will be leading out on the River as a bluff if the Turn goes check-check. I don't think I would ever really check/fold this flop with backdoors as strong as this, especially vs this kind of opponent.

Of course it can be c-bet, too. Both are strong plays, and it's okay to check/fold the turn unimproved, but we have to be more inclined to double barrel even without turning equity in situations where we are uncapped and we're facing an aggressive floater.

I would be check/calling the Turn on this card and very frequently folding the River vs a triple barrel. This is a good check/calling card, I'd only be donking Turn and betting River vs huge passive fish. It might be a different story if we were IP, but we don't have big playability on our ace OOP.

Unfortunately both fold to turn c-bet & river AF will not even be slightly accurate on a 90-hand sample..

Hello,

check/callling flop with this hand in these positions is just way too loose. Either cbet (and continue on hearts, 8, 5 or check/fold flop)

Maybe I'll use this hand for a highlight.

Double2 is biggest nit ever :tongue:

Would like to see this hand in highlight!

This is actually simple. Please can anyone give me a solid range for calling CO vs open from reg MP?

Then, what type of hands is he stabbing on the flop vs missed? How is A6s doing against that? How does A6s plays on different turns against that same range (you turn nothing, you turn a 6, you turn an A, you turn a heart).

I'm open folding this hand MP especially vs. those opponents, where at least one of them is calling and the BB with 40 bb would be happy at least to call or to push=) and I'm in the middle of nowhere.

COvsMP QQ-55, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+

I do not think he will stab with 1/2 pot QQ-TT. He will bet them bigger.
99-55, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s he can bet them for 1/2 either because he has a very strong hand and do not want us to fold, or he has a medium strength hand and do not want to invest more.

It looks like this:
MP2 66.96% 99-55, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+
MP3 33.04% Ah6h

on a blank turn ( 2s):
MP2 73.33% 99-55, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+
MP3 26.67% Ah6h

on a 6 turn:
MP2 37.06% 99-55, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+
MP3 62.94% Ah6h

on an Ac turn:
MP2 43.29% 99-55, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+
MP3 56.71% Ah6h

on a 5h turn:
MP2 56.93% 99-55, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+
MP3 43.07% Ah6h

First of all we aren't calling passively to hit. We're calling to be aggressive on later streets. I thought that was obvious.

Here, I'll do the ranges or whatever for you

A solid calling range for CO vs MP:
QQ-55,ATs+,KJs+,QJs,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,AQo+

Vs solid betting range:

Board: 7♥7♠9♣
Equity Win Tie
MP3 21.76% 18.41% 3.35% { Ah6h }
CO 78.24% 74.89% 3.35% { QQ-55, AJs+, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, AQo+ }

The more realistic calling range our opponent has:
77-22,AJs-A5s,KJs-K8s,Q8s+,J8s+,T8s+,97s+,87s,76s,AJo-A8o,KTo+,QJo

It's likely going to be higher but let's say he's going to bet only around 45% of the time with his best holdings when checked to

Board: 7♥7♠9♣
Equity Win Tie
MP3 33.05% 28.70% 4.35% { Ah6h }
CO 66.95% 62.60% 4.35% { 77-44, AJs-A7s, KJs, K9s, Q9s, J9s, T9s, 97s+, 87s, 76s, AJo-A9o, KQo }

Looks like we have enough equity to call. Not that it's relevant. We're not going to realize a lot of our equity in this spot. That's not the point of check/calling. It might've been the OP's point, or maybe he didn't know why he was calling.

I don't know about you guys but I think this is an excellent hand to check/call and put into our turn check/raising range in this spot. I think it's better than check/calling ATo for example.

x/f flop - when you hit your 3 outer and still feel gross about calling down its a good indication we could have made a mistake somewhere

As played fold river he's not bluffing off here imo

Would you rather try calling down OOP attempting to get a high-equity ace to showdown, or would you rather be aggressive with a playable hand + a chance of stacking your opponent when he does have a hand?

I'm in the latter camp. Apart from that, this is a classic example of a hand that can be used to balance a value-heavy turn check-raising
range.

It's interesting to see that double2 is too good for simple equity calculations - he has to ask someone else to do it.

Very condescending.

I was just trying to get some more discussion going, I think this is the best way to help people that want to learn. I fully intend to give more feedback in this hand. And I don't think I was condescending at all.

I know I have a lot to learn from you, I just don't particularly like you at the moment.

Any chance you're giving out free coachings to precocious students? :f_cool:
