PLO2-Z KQ98ss: V made a wierd river ch/r (after he resteals and there is no action)

I think your hand is a marginal 3bet from the BTN even and definitely a fold vs a 4bet so I dont like your preflop play you will be behind all the way throughout the hand on average from start to finish. On the flop I don't understand the action but on the river it looks like backdoor straight vs backdoor flush. His 3bet (1.2%) is good AA** only it seems so his 4bet would be even tighter or similar but I dont think he would raise the set on this river anymore with all the straights and the flush that came in so my guess is he had top set on flop with the backdoor nfd. Also hard to think of bluffs on river, only overplayed top set comes to mind as a mistake.

Really strange hand cos either he has a brainfart or he has aces. But why would he check the flop? Maybe he wanted to be tricky but got scared on the turn. But his river raise is always for value imo. Not sure if your thin valuebet is fine cos if he has aces he often had Ad in his hand and could have the flush. Or use it as a blocker sometimes.

Edit. If he doesnt have aces, why would he check the flop? The more I think about it, the more it looks like he has them aces.

I had saveral resons to 3bet here and try to begin with the most important (maybe u can help me with that )
1. The hand: I have a decent hand that is better in HU-pots + it can call a 4bet
2. Position: I have the best position + CO often has a loose range
3. Players: CO (81Hands) stealed 50% from CO and 100% from BU so far.
He folds 6/7 to cbets + SB is very tight OOP and the SB is a CS (but this can also be a argument for a call/fold)
4. Initative

I don't know really. My assumption is, like you both said, he has it on the River, but otf and turn he has to and did fear a straight.
On the river he thought alot of hand would bet, that could fold to a bet or that have DS-value and he can get more with ch/r, than a bet.
I really had to tank, but there was such a big chance he had it.

I would have to check this when I get back home but I think it is marginal throughout vs not just an AA range but a strong AA range which appears to be his 4betting range. Preflop vs top 1% range you only have 34.74%, after your pf call postflop spr is around 1.4 requiring a BE equity of just 37% which you will hit on around 40% of all flops (which means you are putting money in behind all throughout the hand) but you only outflop (that is flop more than 50% equity vs this range) on 25% of flops and only "smash it" where you will flop 65% or more on less than 10% of all flops. Will check this more indepth when I come back from my carribean holidays : )
