Weak top pair against possible bluff?

Hi everyone,

Villain is very loose and agressive. When he raises me on the flop, I don't believe him and feel like he has a mid pair or weak top pair, which is why I 3bet. It is not a play I would usually do against an unknown but this guy was firing barrels and raising a lot in other hands.
He just calls and check downs. Since I am wary he might be trapping, I check down too.

Could I have extracted a bit more value here?

After flop you're down to 27 BBs and after he 3bets you, I believe you have 2 choice: fold or shove.
when you 4bet leaving behind 7BBs you're already crippled, It is better to decide if you want to commit your tournament with this hand and just shove, or if you think it is better to fold and look for a better spot.

this is a tough spot, but I would probably shove here, unless I had any read the he flat calls strong pre flop or that he check/raise strong post-flop.

Thanks for the reply.

That is a big problem of mine. When there is action in a hand, I tend to completely overlook how my stack is doing. Had I carefully kept track of my stack compared to the size of the 4bet I was planning to do, I don't think I would have done it at all.

He had 9Ts, so my read on him was right but that was close.

The flop you should indeed 3bet shove or fold with you're stack size.
Further nice that you're read was correct here :f_thumbsup:
