Man, I hate donkbets. Especially small donkbets. That's why I try to attack those as much as possible. Normally I would rr/f OTF here, but looking at the board texture I became a bit confused and called. Afterwards the hand just spiralled out of control, at least I didn't put my whole stack in there. What range would you assign to villain OTF here?

Villain donks 1/2 on flop and turn. It is not so small.
I am not calling or raising.

Yeah, the note about small donkbets were meant as a general statement. As I am constantly attacking donkbets I have seen my fair share of folds to reraises, no matter if the donkbet is minbet or potsized. Do you have any suggestions on what board textures we should just give up with air/weak hands facing donkbet?

All I know is that with hands with equity we should call and let him bet.

Man, it can look weak... But, for me, its a fold on the flop already.
He can have a bunch of Jx, 7x, and if so u are drawing almost dead.

Yes, I am folding too.

Then you really need to look over your defense against donk bets. You are handling them in exactly the wrong way. What do you gain when you raise and they fold (assuming you have a hand at all)?????

Then what is he holding?
I can't say, but if he is any type of competent donker, he normally will have nuts/good draws. Here there are no draws, so I'd put a good donker on nuts + total air. In either case, a good donker will be looking to reraise if you raise. Good donker or bad donker, it doesn't matter- raising is the worst you can do. Versus the bad donker, you can't extract more from his bluffs and versus a good one, you'll just be re-bluffed out or lose to his nuts.

I have a strong population read that when fish donks he has either a draw or one pair+. Here only 89 has a gutshot and there is 2 higher cards on the board than your fives. For me this is a fold. On the turn you are just burning money.

Looking to this hand and the other w deuces makes me think that, maybe, u have a problem not exactly vs donks... but about letting small pairs go.

Dont fall in love w ur hand so much, they are good in some cases, others just not. In cases they dont worth much, muck it.

It is pretty straightforward - you open/call preflop with small pp and want to hit a set+.
Do not hit a set... fold without bothering.
In another hand Afulibador was advising to watch stats and stuff but this is way off. Make it simple, lose small, win big... :)

In another hand I was trying to show when we could make a more fancy move. But, yes... low limits keep it simple and u ll be in good shape.

Fancy is expensive.
There is a term for it - FMS. Fancy Move Syndrome.
Build a basic solid game.

These plays usually have in common that weak hands are pushed hard and strong hands are played weakly. It should be quite clear that such a strategy cannot stand inspection. A little deception is fine, even necessary, but when exceptional moves are promoted to standard moves (e.g. "I always raise donks with small pairs") we are in a position where winning is impossible without thorough review of the game plan.

Exactly, these plays can be done, sure. But who uses it has to know that its not a play to do often. Instead, just in some cases u personally concluded it can be a good alternative (by combining info on villain, gameflow, etc).

IMHO the OP is trying to find a reason in his move even if he perfecly knows that it is wrong: is oppo's range really important in this situation? I mean, assuming that villain is completely unknown, he is donkbetting halfpot a superdry board, than double barrel it and hero only has a small pair: is there any good reason because hero should try to outplay his oppo? The donk bet on such a board is probably a sign that villain does not even think about what he is representing. My 2 cents

hahaha
Sure, NittyMcNuts.
This is a standard fold otf in hero's shoes.
