Donked off my tournament life

I realize this is probably a fairly straight forward hand to play for some of you, but I'd like to know how you would approach pocket tens this short stacked from early position. Maybe bet smaller on the flop and fold to a raise? I think post flop bet sizing is one of my biggest leaks in tournament poker.

Tbh I would have open shoved. Even though you have 15 BBs, you must also allow for the antes. Once anteing starts, I switch to using Harrington's 'M' which is the total cost of an orbit (1 x SB, 1 x BB, 9 x antes).

With a 120k stack, your M = 120,000 / (4,000 + 8.000 + 9,000) which puts your M at under 6. Once your M gets below 10, you no longer have room to move. A normal open and flop cbet will take enough of your stack to virtually leave you with very few options if there is a villain still interested..

I'm surprised by villain flatting OOP with AQo. That's a reshove over a standard raise because of his low M as well.

If you want to avoid awkward situations, I think shoving TT with 15 BB is alright

I would push pre-flop as well and as played it’s a clear fold on his shove on the flop.

I've read up more on the M-Factor and I will be adding it to my HUD for future use. My pre flop judgement is sometimes clouded by my SnG strategy where 15 BBs is more than enough wiggle room.

I was pretty shocked to see that he didn't push AQ as well, but I still shouldn't have called on the flop

Next time you get TT, don't run into AQ on a Q high flop! I understand your call, you have a bluff catcher on a board with many potential draws. Still, at these stakes and with your read on villain it looks a clear if annoying fold. After reading the discussion above I guess I will be pushing TT here, it certainly makes things simpler.

I would also just jam pre, I like to raise when villian can rejam a ton, like AK AQ and then start to open jam something like 66-TT.

After looking into the M factor a bit more I think it's going to drastically improve my tournament game. I was playing the short stack completely wrong and leaking a ton of chips in spots where I should just jam PF.

As played, probably is better to cbet/fold.
You are way behind or in best scenarios you gonna had slight equity advantage.

Yeah the call on the flop was definately just a tilt/misplay. I was not in the right mindset this deep in the tournament.

Like guys said, 15bbs from UTG+1: shove pre w TT.
As played, ur sizing on flop is really good, dont worry about it. Calling the raise from a nit guy in this board that is a problem... should have folded here.
