Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has J♠ 9♠

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.50, SB raises to $2.25, fold, Hero calls $1.75

Flop: ($4.75, 2 players) 6♠ 8♦ 7♣
SB bets $3.08, Hero calls $3.08

Turn: ($10.91, 2 players) 4♦
SB bets $3.64, Hero ...

As played:

Spoiler

Turn: ($10.91, 2 players) 4♦
SB bets $3.64, Hero calls $3.64

River: ($18.19, 2 players) 3♠
SB checks, Hero bets $16.69 and is all-in, SB calls $16.69

Villain is a loose reg, marked him as fishy earlier, forgot why, but no further notes on him. Pre J9s is in my defending range. We hit a good flop and I plan to peel once and bluff if he checks and give up when he barrells a normal size again.

Now he makes it very small on the turn.

Question:
a) Call, in order to bluffshove any river (that would be a double-float) if he checks, or
b) Raise his bet (let's say to $10), represent the straight and call off the rest if he shoves
c) fold

Call. You still draw to the nuts.

I like calling and bluffing rivers because he rarely has 5x, but you might not get the chance because effective stacks will be less than pot on the river.

Raising was my immediate thought, because he folds a lot (we can have a 5 or T9 a lot more easily than he can) and we still have outs to the nuts. I don't like raising to $10 and calling off, though, because we don't have much behind. Just jam.

I like raising a bit more instead of shoving because it puts him on the spot to either click the AI button or to fold, and even more importantly, it looks extremely strong (stronger than a shove).

This guy has a WTSD of 39 so far. Maybe this changes some perception of calling and bluffing the river is a better choice / whether we have enough foldequity...

The hand sample is too small to draw such conclusions. Call and see whst comes.

You just put yourself in a situation where you have to call it off against a nutted range as he's never jamming turn as a bluff. It's way easier to just ship it in yourself.

Getting the odds after I put in the $10 I don't mind. The actual money comes from him folding to the raise and not from going broke

You are repping very thin by just calling the flop and raising his turn barrel, I would float again and if checked to jam any diamond T, J or 5 -

+ his sizing gives you great odds to just float, and the river will give you plenty of ability to potjam.

Not really - T9s, 75s, 65s, A5s, 55 could all take that line. That's 20 pretty realistic value combos right there.

66,77,88,78s,76s.. and the list goes on..

I'd definitely jam those too because he can't have many 5x and many guys on this limit just can't fold their overpairs

Why not raising OTT when villain has a WTSD of 39? I would expect here that he will be very cautious with such a small bet. I would have sensed weakness here.

Cause it is for 58 hands. Not relevant.

If he can't fold an overpair that's not an argument for jamming with jack high...

Pre J9s is in my defending range.

Mind sharing what's your defending range and what method you used to arrive at it sire?
Trying to see what people do for https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2269423#post2269423 cause so far I do what "feels about right" :P

Agree with the guys commenting - vs someone who you marked as fishy calling turn and seeing what happens on the river's best. We don't have to bluff the river fyi but I guess on this card it should be okay

sample is irrelevant for wtsd

Folding is out of the question. It is a mathematical call if you can extract even a penny on the river.

I don't think we can represent a many made straights (but can villain see this?). Call and see what the poker gods deliver.
