Standard fold with aces?

Villain is shortstack and a call is not a mistake.

Standard fold vs standard 100bb stack player. Here villain has a short stack and those guys tend to go crazy. Calling would be ok.

I don't like folding turn here against a fish. I understand that you're scared of Qx on this board but the thing is he will rarely play Qx/TT like that. Fish usually keep slowplaying or minraise turn when they have the nuts. I would be even happier if we didn't have Ad to block his FDs but it is still a clear and quite profitable call.

This forum has really turned around when it comes to "fish bluffing". Just a couple of months ago it was "they always have it here" that was the truth. Now it is "they never have it here". Just an observation:f_smile:

Not enough information to define the villain as a fish yet. 50BB is an indicator but a weak one. Could be an MSS who won a few blinds.

I think a call and a fold are going to work out to twelve one way or a dozen the other over the longer run here. Perhaps slightly +EV to call but certainly less volatile to fold. If you get a little tilty after losing a big pot a fold probably has the edge. Then again if a successful call is going to put you in the zone, back we go again.

Not a mistake either way.

It is a trivial GTO fold (due to raise size and own holding). You need an extremely strong read to overturn the decision to fold.

It all comes from the different spots, the only constant is "always/never". We can't tolerate uncertainty so we have strong opinions every time Jokes aside, for me at least it is just a shortcut to express that I think someone is quite imbalanced in a certain spot.

Easy fold for me. Probably Qx, and he was scared of second diamond so he pushed all in.

I would agree with that if we were playing higher but on nl2 anyone <80 bbs is immediately marked as a big fish in my book. Add to this his overbet jam on the turn and we can be pretty sure he is a fish.

I would fold as played but also consider checking either the flop or the turn. I don't know if you're going to get 2 more streets of value from some mid pp if you bet turn/bet river on this board texture. Furthermore, if villain is aggressive and bad, there's a lot of merit to letting him bluff and getting value that way.

This dude is check-raising turn on a QQT board. I'll have a large selection of Qx in my range to defend if I feel the need to deviate in that direction from balanced play. ("Standard" read here used to be "nuts each and every time".)

I do not think he thinks anout our rangr, he's playing his hand. But I have to agree that I like folding better.

i think it all depends on opponent.
