PokerStars - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $12.15 (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 1)
SB: $65.74 (VPIP: 21.05, PFR: 15.79, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 19)
Hero (BB): $25.00
UTG: $9.61
MP: $25.71 (VPIP: 11.11, PFR: 11.11, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 9)
CO: $16.77 (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 100.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 1)

SB posts SB $0.10, Hero posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has 9♣ K♣

fold, MP raises to $0.62, CO calls $0.62, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.37

Flop: ($1.96, 3 players) K♠ 7♠ Q♣
Hero bets $1.20, MP calls $1.20, CO calls $1.20

Turn: ($5.56, 3 players) 2♠
Hero checks, MP bets $2.76, fold, fold

Pre: Don't see any situation where I don't defend this.

Postflop:
Lead vs. check/call

Advantages of leading:
- we don't have the situation that it gets checked-around on the turn in case someone bets the flop with a draw and we can effectively double-barrel the turn for value
- we get an informational advantage (if someone raises our bet we have an easy fold, whereas we have a guessing game by just check/calling

Disadvantages of leading:
- we can valuetown ourselves and have a awkward situation OTT if both players decide to come along

Advantages of check/calling:
- we keep our opponents' ranges a little bit wider (gutshots may fold the flop right away to a bit)
- we make them even semi-bluff barrel these hands vs. us because they give themselves foldequity

Disadvantages of check/calling:
- we play a guessing game most of the time whether our opponent(s) is/are semi-bluffing or not.
- we always have to fold to a riverbet without any specific reads

Taking all these points into consideration.. I liked the lead OTF a bit more. What do you think?

(as played the turn should be an easy x/f)

How about squeezing preflop?
As played , it is ok postflop.

Yes, leading is an option here. I like the way you approached this.

That was my first thought but then after few seconds of thinking I think it's a little bit loose to squeeze with K♣:9♣:.

Maybe I'm wrong with this hand but I preffer x/c OTF. Let PFA lead with 2 guys in pot so you will get better information about his hand.

As played, if you decide to bet flop why stop OTT when CO fold? Lead again with 1/2PSB, put pressure on villain OTT and evaluate river. If non-spade low card would hit I would bet river too.

I don't see much value in this hand with donking flop and giving up OTT. In most cases, PFR would call donk bet and bet turn after hero checking. If you see some value in this hand, call and evaluate on later streets, if you don't bet flop, bet turn and fold to raise, ofc.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

I like the way you played this. Squeezing pre is one option too.

Sure, squeezing could be an option... with the read that both players like to fold pre, or call too wide and fold too much OTF if they decided to call. Otherwise our squeezing range gets way too wide in this spot. Would probably squeeze a range of:

JJ+, AQo+, AJs+ as a standard

and occasionally suited connectors/one-gappers since they have a better playability than K9s.

Thanks for the feedback guys :f_thumbsup:

I prefer the bluff squeeze to be with blockers oop.

I like squeezing more than calling. Postflop we will run into alot of marginal spots we can avoid.

If we squeeze, we don't?

First of all we have fold equity preflop. Second we don't need to go nuts on Kxx boards.

Also in 3bet pots villains tend to be more honest because of your preflop strenght.

i would check Flop. There are too many draws, and too many better hands than K9, so when one of the villain defend flop, it gets you in a very bad spot on following streets. Exception would be if villain is passive, and not capable of turning his 2nd pair into bluff once you check on later street, and if he is passive with draws. If fish in hand, different story, we want to bet vs fish and hope reg folds, if reg doesnt fold, we can think about turning a hand into bluff on turn, river if he doesnt raise us.

And we have initiative postflop.

pre i prefer sqz before calling.

postflop:
bad leading range construction there....
i'm tempting to lead more polarized..from low suited spades + J9hh,cc,dd (bottom) until 77 (top)...
Too many problems (without a reason) leading with ur weakest Kx being oop multiway and blowing up the pot marginally...

We will have initiative and can barrel on good boards.

Squeeze or fold for me. K9s OOP... why do we even want to see flops, let alone multiway flops.

Decision depends entirely on villain's fold3. Vs unknown I'd just release and wait for a read.

I prefer X-C here postflop as it keeps the pot smaller. Some villains will cbet over the top of donks as a matter of course and leave you in a gross spot, others will just fold their cbet hands and you've missed a street of value.

Worse, donking here represents exactly what you hold. If you don't donk often with sets and some draws as well, you've turned your hand face up. So the question is, would you also donk 77 or KQ here, on that board?
