$0.10/$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 3 Players

SB: $16.88 (84.4 bb)
BB: $23.59 (118 bb)
Hero (BTN): $21.01 (105.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q 6
Hero raises to $0.50, SB folds, BB calls $0.30

Flop: ($1.10) 2 K 3 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.66, BB calls $0.66

Turn: ($2.42) 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($2.42) 5 (2 players)
BB bets $1.40, Hero calls $1.40

Villain is good reg 23/18 500 hands.

Pre: normal steal open.

flop: normal cbet as I would cbet this dry K high flop with almost my whole range

Turn: Villain fold to cbet is 64 so I don't expect him to fold a lot to turn barrel on this board. Also I hit my 6 for showdown value.

River: Villain bets ~60% of the pot. He can have a 4 or a king or bluff. I guess I have to call here with my hand as my range looks like a lot of air. I would not cbet my mid pairs on this flop(so I can't have them on the river) I would bet my kings on the turn so I cant have them otr. My check on the turn looks like I cbet and gave up on the hand --> villain would be more likely to bluff us.

Imo you played this fine and your reasoning looks good.

There are a lot of hands that beat us and play this way 77-JJ, weaker Kx ...
Not calling.

Could we doublebarrel?

What hands will fold on this card?

Villain could call flop with pocket paris and high cards that have BDFD etc crap and he will fold to a second barrel. I don't think villain calls our cbet with only Kx.

River: Your hand beats only bluffs and is one of your worst bluff catchers. Calling with it makes you exploitable (he'll get to see your hand).

I have to kind of review my own first statement here. Bluffcatching with higher pairs would be better. 66 is very low. It would be also good to have strong reads of villains river bluff tendencies before making the call.

As played what higher pairs do I have that I cbet and check back turn?

Surely, this is a question you should answer yourself. Anything between 77 and QQ isn't shocking to check back. Note that already 9 combos of A6 are better. But this is GTO reasoning on my part. If you feel strongly that he is bluffing, then that read overrides, and by all means call with all 6x. But then remember the next similar situation what happened. He'd remember and perhaps adjust.

Turn card does not change anything. Second barrel is not ok.

I guess I should widen my check turn call river range a bit in this spot as I think that I don't have enough strong hands there. Thanks all.

Results:

Spoiler

$5.22 pot ($0.34 rake)
Final Board: 2 K 3 6 5
BB showed A 7 and lost (-$2.56 net)
Hero mucked Q 6 and won $4.88 ($2.32 net)

What would you write on your notes?

Floated Kxx with A high and bet x river ~60% when turn was c/c? (with x I mean low card that is not really important.)

I wouldn't even note that he bluffs river, it is highly normal given the play. Only the fact that he floats OOP with hands that have nothing going for them is worthy of a note. (Note taking requires some economy. Use abbreviations, and don't take notes on normal behavior. I'd write floats OOP, and that's it.)

The float is worth noting.
You can note that he tries to steal pots too.

As yohan and nitrol said the info that he floated is not very significant because it is very common in this kind of spots. What you could note is his bet size. His bet size was around 60% and it was a bluff.. He might use this sizing for value too but next time you see him betting smaller or bigger than that you can be more careful.

No, I said that the float info is the significant fact. The fact that he bluffs when floating isn't shocking. I'd take a note if he floats and does not bluff when invited.

And don't misunderstand me, noting everything is fine. Just thinking about when 32-tabling. You have to be selective.

My brain is not working.. I misread you both

Yes we can and should note that he is capable of doing that even if that is not very uncommon move given how this hand was played.
