Hey, here is a hand i played today where i openraised my AJo in the blindbattle and got 3b by an opponent who seems to do it a bit loser since his 3b % is 10. i know i only have 70 hands of him but well gotta work with what we have. So i decided that i may try a 4b bluff here since im not 4betting very often and im blocking some hands with my Ace. When facing his 5bet of course i have to fold here but i wonder do you think he does this with semi strong hands too sometimes? or is he really having it when he 5bets? And do you think my occasional 4bet bluffs in a spot like this is fine?
Greetings

Imo if you are 4betting there are 3 things that you should take into consideration. Your position, information you have about your opponent, and your hand of course. I don't really like making 4bet bluffs against unknown regs (70 hand is not that much). Also you are OOP and if he calls, you will be in a big pot and you won't know if he has a very strong range or not (some people will always 5bet with AA,KK and they have a weaker range containing hands like QQ,JJ,TT or AQ,AK). Your hand is btw good for a 4bet bluff but the other two things are not. So I think a fold would be just as fine as making a 4bet

yes sure i agree with you. i think that would be my usual play too, but just because i thought he is a reg so he will 3b more often in the blindbattle probably and his 3b % looked quite high with 10% i thought mb its a good spot for a bluff 4b

Well played. 4bet or fold.

Btw the 3bet stat is likely not so high because he seems to be tight overall so I assume that he is not 3 betting too wide.

yes makes sense in a way marsa08, maybe i just catched some of his better hadns in my stats thats why his 3b% looks relatively big

The 5b bluff is a rare animal at nl2.
4b/Fold is right.

This hand was standard. 4bet/fold is fine. I don't believe he will 5bet bluff here. It is very rare.
