Spoiler

$0.77 pot ($0.03 rake)

Hero mucked A♦: T♦: and lost (-$0.37 net)
BTN mucked and won $0.74 ($0.37 net)

My thoughts as played: flop - cbet with gutshot outs, because a diamond on the turn gives me a strong draw and also the Ace might be clean outs.
turn - I thought of barrelling, decided against it in order to let him bluff me. I had the plan if he bets the River, I fold. Is my reasoning wrong in this situation? Should I've bet the turn as well? What am I gaining if I do?
Such spot is troublesome for me, I have a vague idea where I stand and I'd like to know with a higher degree of certainty.

By betting turn you will get calls from some Kx,Qx, draws and weaker Ax. Checking and letting him bluff is fine too but then you should not be folding to a river bet. I like it as played OTF and OTT but I would have called river.

Ah, even when he bets so large? I was inclined to call up to 1/2 pot, 2/3 was too pricy. Why is 2/3 ok to call? What range would you assign him to do bet with? I know I beat the lower aces but I don't see them coming with 2/3 bet on 2 streets.

He has super wide range. You under-rep your hand and he stabs you. When you check that turn villain will/should stab you with all of his hands and if he is smart he should very often stab river too. Bet sizes tell us very little. If he is bluffing here he might want to make it bigger so you would fold. Or then he can bet his Kx for value because you don't rep Ax.

I disagree with BTN having a SUPER WIDE range. Actually I find it pretty close to x/c the turn. On this board he should already fold all his weak Ax. And with AT we are beaten by several twopairs and AJ. T9s is the only combo I see that we are beating on the turn. The only reason why I cbet this flop is to take it down right away and barrel :spade: turns.

To the betsizing: I'd probably size a little larger on the flop. You get more foldequity and the turn gets easier to play

Depends a bit on villain but I think when we don't bet turn villain will stab with very wide range. And imo he should. He might not fold his weak Ax OTF and he has plenty of other hands here. He can bet Kx,Qx,JJ,TT maybe some other pairs, draws. And since we check the river he should be betting it too with as wide range because he gets a lot of folds.

There are not that many in his calling range.

In fact he is not that super wide. And this board hits him better.

We have a xc hand and feel good if he stabs with his whole range.

I do not agree that this board hits him better. We opened PF and have way more set combos than him (as well as every 2 pair that he has). I think that we generally have a big range advantage. I think the turn can go either way; I don't really see this as a turn he is really going to be betting often. He does not have a ton of Ax (some AQ and AJ/AT I guess). I think a bet is okay for you and I think it's generally better to bet this turn with a hand like QT than check/call. Check/calling with AT here is also a fine play but I would only do it vs. aggressive players (and check/decide most rivers).

No need to pump the turn here.
