Our opponent is a reg with FT3bet 70 after 2,6k hands and 75% from the SB. Since he is folding so much , he can take this line with А6,А9,66,99. Also he is raising cbets 38% (3 of 8 situations) . Is it OK fold OTF, I', confused

How much does he open from SB.
I am not sure that villain who folds that much will have A6, A9 here...

he is playing first only 40% of the time

When villain folds to cbets that much, I think he might not have 2 pair here. So probably 66,99 and draws? He seems to raise cbets quite often so he should have a lot of draws there and we have nut re-draw. I think calling wouldn't be very bad?

I am not that optimistic about the call:
MP2 20.21% 20.21% 0.00% KhKs
MP3 79.79% 79.79% 0.00% 99, 66, AQs-ATs, QhJh, QhTh, JhTh, Th9h, 9h8h, 8h7h, AQo-AJo

We should 3B a bit bigger. I would call flop here as the raise is very low and we indeed can draw to nuts.

You have a backdoor to nuts which will happen not so often.PLus who will pay you off with 3 hearts on the board???

I think AxTh+ will call off quite some plus a fair amount o broadway hearts. We can also still hit 2 kings. I am not sure but I think we have enough equity to call this raise.

That's 3 combos, man. Fair amount of broadway hearts may get flush before you...
Do not like the call. Look at the range above.

I would pretty much rule out those Ax. Check raising in 3bet pot with TPGK doesn't sound so good to me. Maybe villain can do this but we should at least reduce those Ax combos a lot, which would give us much more equity.

I will ask my coach today what to do in this particular situation.

Looks like an easy fold. I wouldn't even bother to look at stats. There's more reliable information, namely, he check-raised flop and it contains an overcard which is an A, the favorite card of most. My efforts end right there.

Yes, asked it. Fact that villain here folds 70% is the first reason to call instead of 3bet and let him barrel. It would help how much villain would open from SB. Next to that, everyone (including me) failed the spot that villain opens here with 4bb. I was asked the question, when would I rather go out of the scope of my normal play, with hands such as AJ, AQ, TT, JJ? Or rather AA/KK? I'd sure try to get into my opponents head when I have AA or KK :f_biggrin:
However, we 3bet here and he calls. We went over that it is unlikely that villain would open 4bb with 22, 44 or something but rather TT+, AQ+. That is why the value range given here is quite OK (but a bit wide with the info we already have from villain).
Flop comes: Why do we bet and let villain fold all the other remaining hands was the question. The principle of value and bluff will be here a bit misplaced because if he would call this board we would only be up against hands that will fold to postflop stabs (JJ & QQ mostly. AJ/AQ might be a fold on flop already and it's quite unlikely that AJ/AQ would bet 4bb pre anyway; 2 reasons to put these at the bottom of our range). A check OTF would have been much better in so many ways and in terms of drawing to nut flush a x:heart: OTT will increase our equity. If we had made this line he would have had AQ/AJ at the bottom of his range and paid us off if it was a heart but the problem is villain's range is now super super tight and villain doesn't turn TT-KK into a bluff here. As per conclusion, there is nothing left but a snap fold. We mostly would be up against AA here (almost 50%) and the other 50% are AK, AQ and QQ combined.
Please, be thankful for this advise as this came at my own expense ;)

I do not agree with the 4bb open part. There are still plenty of players opening for 4bb at the micros and there is nothing special about that.
Everything else was mentioned already, but still thanks for the efford.

Point 1. If he is folding to 3b 70% then we should just flat call KK.
Point 2. If he folds so much preflop then he hits stronger postflop. Does not matter that much how often he raises vs cbet , if he has a nitty range or course he hits more often and stronger. It is very ok to fold on the flop.

If villain is opening 40% and folding 75%, then he defends a good 10%range and I do not mind 3betting.

I think we can call on the flop here. Especially since we have the King of Hearts in our hand. However, calling may require us playing creatively on the turn and river.

Folding is also fair, safer and a lot more straightforward.

Thats a reasonable range. And maybe w less Ax check raising us, as la55i said.
Still, we are getting here 20,39% equity needed to call based on odds. That said, calling is not that bad.
If we just remove ATs and AJ we have 23,36% already.

I do not know how you got that numbers... We need a little more than 25%...
