Here a very loose (about 39/29) player raised and I reraised for the second time in a couple of hands (last time I had aces and took half his stack). This time he called again and an ace came on the flop. I didn't think he necessarily had one but I didn't want him to steal the pot with nothing. So on his check I bet. The thing about the bet is that it was about half my stack.. so it would have destroyed my tournament if he had reraised or called..
Was it a bad move?

I check behind this hand IP. I think that way we get more value against PP and it sucks if he calls or check/raises with half your stack already into the pot.

the problem with a check here is the amazing FD out there.
although these agressive players would bet it out.
if you bet here you might chase away the lower pairs like 99-JJ
if you check behind on the flop, you might get an extra bet from hin on the turn.
although the board looks pretty draw heavy it is not.
because the A :diamond: cuts the hands to a FD down to KQ or KJ
any other hand should be folded to the reraise preflop.
so the chance he holds the fd is pretty low.
and therefor i would play check behind and try to induce a bluff.
and i am willing to call an all in on the turn no matter what card comes
