Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8♣ 8♥

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 3 BB, SB raises to 13 BB, fold, UTG calls 10 BB, Hero calls 10 BB

Flop: (40 BB, 3 players) 2♦ 7♠ 3♣
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets 12 BB, fold, UTG raises to 32 BB, fold

I thought for a long time. Then I folded. Simply because I have the population read that villains generally don't bluff at all in squeezed pots. Especially not multi-way. 88's are good to bet for protection, but I see more overpairs that beat us than 7x that play this way.

What's your point of view? (both players are unknown due to snap)

I think you played it fine. Checking is one option but I prefer betting since you might very well be ahead and there are a lot of cards you don't want to see. Also when both check you probably have some fold equity.

We can definitely fold. Main reason is, that it´s multiway and he 3 bets there, which is superstrong. We play this hand to hit set and as we don´t we simply fold. Btw if we want to donk, I think it should be bigger - 1/2 of the pot.

I like it as played. He can do this with weaker but he has a lot of strong hands that crush us.
