SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 9♣ 8♣

Hero raises to 2.8 BB, MP calls 2.8 BB, fold, BTN calls 2.8 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (9.9 BB, 3 players) 2♥ T♣ 2♣
Hero bets 5 BB, fold, BTN calls 5 BB

Turn: (19.9 BB, 2 players) 8♦
Hero checks, BTN bets 13.9 BB, Hero ???

Villain is a reg. But no other reads on him.

On the flop it's a standard cbet with a lot of flushdraw equity. On the turn it's probably good to weight out the times he has a flushdraw compared to when he has T8s-T9s, JTs, QTs, KTs, ATs.

Board: T♣2♣2♥ 8♦
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    54.61%  54.61%   0.00% { 9c8c }
MP3    45.39%  45.39%   0.00% { ATs, KQs, KTs, QTs+, JTs, T8s+, AcQc, AcJc, KcJc, Ac7c, Ac6c, 7c6c, Ac5c, 6c5c, Ac4c, 5c4c, Ac3c, Ac2c }

If he bets we actually have a call.

Next question: Which play has a higher EV? The bet or the check on the turn? If we assume villain will always bet the river we gotta call 2 streets, but then it gets very expensive because it's random 10NL

Hmmm....

This is a trivial xc with a p+dr.

I would not assume villain will always bluff river also if he has bluffs at all 3way, so if we do not improve, we might find fold on river.

Hmm, but what if we DO improve? Then we face a big bet with a bad flush being beaten a lot. But due to the turn-equity we still gotta play this way I guess...

yea, that sucks. Maybe then its better to turn our pair into bluff and 2nd barrel turn. This is 3way and we are from UTG, so this looks strong and I guess we can expect to make him fold top pair. And if he does not fold, we have equity.

I wouldn't open 89s at utg to begin with. It might look pretty but is hard to prevail.

This is a standard UTG open...
