888 Poker - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 100 BB (VPIP: 20.97, PFR: 14.52, 3Bet Preflop: 7.02, Hands: 125)
BB: 167.6 BB (VPIP: 47.62, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 25.00, Hands: 21)
UTG: 100 BB (VPIP: 18.18, PFR: 18.18, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 35)
Hero (MP): 100 BB
CO: 74.8 BB (VPIP: 69.70, PFR: 63.64, 3Bet Preflop: 66.67, Hands: 34)
BTN: 100 BB (VPIP: 21.43, PFR: 16.43, 3Bet Preflop: 8.33, Hands: 145)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8♥ 8♠

fold, Hero raises to 2.8 BB, fold, BTN raises to 8.4 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 5.6 BB

Flop: (18.3 BB, 2 players) 6♦ 9♥ 5♦
Hero checks, BTN bets 12 BB, Hero calls 12 BB

Turn: (42.3 BB, 2 players) 4♦
Hero checks, BTN bets 27.5 BB, fold

BTN wins 40.2 BB

This hand is played vs a solid-looking reg, with justs a 8% 3bet value overall (1 occasion from the BTN) but also on a small samplesize. He cbets 70% on the flop.

Overall this hand looks ok. On the turn it's definitely a fold. But there are still questions coming up:

1) Can we call Pre-flop for set-value?
2) Does it make sense to continue on this flop without a set but with the 6-outer vs a tight range (and maybe even tighter cbetting range / do you see regs cbetting AK/AQ here?)

I believe that the right move is to fold PF - there is some rule, that if u have to call a bet that is up to 1/20 of your stack, set mining is not worth it. If u do the math, it´s pretty close (5,6*20=112BB). Personally I wouldn´t want to fold, so I´d check the stats and if it somehow improves my opinion, that we can call, I´d call. OTF I think we can call.

I prefer folding this hand when OOP and facing a 3bet but basically it is fine to call.
If this was single raised pot it would be definitely ok to call flop but I guess it is not bad here either since you have some outs.
Turn is a fold.

You could have played this hand differently but I don't see very big problems in the way you played it.

Well, it is a border line hand. I like it as played.
