Just for background for those not familiar with this game on Stars, the top 5 'win' but the amount you get depends on stack size - 1.39 + 0.04 per 100 chips. The player on the button with a tiny stack actually made it to the final 5 but still lost money overall. I've been worried that I've not been using chip leads enough against players on small stacks near the bubble.
Against 6 of the players I feel like it was a good push - they either had very small stacks that I could easily cover or had slightly larger stacks that would probably only be able to call with premium hands.
My query concerns the chip leader who calls me. Looking back at the hand I wonder if I should have just bet c1000 and folded to a re-raise. My thinking at the time was that they were an aggressive player more than capable of re-raising with not a lot. I wanted to take that option out of their hands, thinking that they could only call with a very good hand. Was I just unlucky running into such a hand or should I have been leaving this hand alone and staying sure of a smaller win?
