I guess villain can check turn with some Jx and overpairs but he will call if you bet. You might fold out some Ax hands but not sure if he will fold often enough. Your plan to call twice and give up sounds good to me.

Standardly I fold this OTF. However if we want to exploit, I would check his c bet ratio and then decide if call flop and bet OTT.

Villain can cbet flop with wide range and I would say folding pocket pairs over 88 as a standard might cost you money on the long run. Many times when you call the flop it will go check check OTT and OTR and you will win the hand vs villains 55 or KQo or something like that.

As played is okay.

Betting turn would be okay too, one purpose being stopping bluffs (that we can't call). If he bet with air on the and we check turn, he'll be quite likely to fire river. Only men with very big balls can call a big river bet (presumably a better play, but requires reads and, as mentioned, cojones grande), but not with that A on the board (regardless of ball size).
