Hero (SB): 100 BB
BB: 181 BB (VPIP: 40.00, PFR: 40.00, 3Bet Preflop: 20.00, Hands: 15)

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♥ Q♠

fold, MP raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero raises to 10 BB, fold, MP calls 7 BB

Flop: (21 BB, 2 players) 7♥ 4♥ J♣
Hero bets 11 BB, MP raises to 22 BB, Hero calls 11 BB

Turn: (65 BB, 2 players) 9♠
Hero checks, MP bets 71.1 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 68 BB and is all-in

River: (201 BB, 2 players) 8♥

Villain is unkwon but seems tight so far. Usually i think his raise on the flop is strong without further information, or can i assume that he has enough semibluffs in his strange or Jx so that i can call / raise AI on this texture? As played i assumed enough semibluffs besides 77/JJ to call down. What do you think on this spot? Assume he is Nit, do we fold the flop?

Preflop and flop are fine. Folding OTF would be too weak imo. T is definitely fold (plus you said he was tight, which is another reason to fold). Would villain really go broke there with something you beat? Turn bets are sign of strength, think about calling them withou 2 pairs or better hand.

I kinda agree with mozzek. Pre and flop are fine. OTT folding is probably the best option. He can have sets and you block some draws. Min raise OTF also looks suspicious.
However, his turn sizing is weird. It looks like he really doesn't mind if we fold. He might sometimes have a draw, maybe something like JhTh, or maybe he is overplaying AJ (maybe AhJh?). I think nits can sometimes play postflop stupidly. They are very very tight pre flop and when they have some kind of hand they always want to win it. I have seen it before.

Why can we call flop and fold turn? I think he will bet OTT quite frequently? Or do we assume enough checks OTT from villain? How does the scenario change if villain is a fish?

It´s because of bet size OTT. It´s huge, it can´t be bigger. Which means two things: villain seems strong, second we don´t want to take risks. We are not here to gamble, we are here to take the best possible spots and extract money of them. Keep in mind that you have only 1 pair. Villain´s line represents stronger hands than 1 pair. We don´t assume check from villain, but we simply can´t call bet, which is huge like this one.

So 1/2 - 2/3 pot size bet you would call OTT?

Shove is 2 to 1, so i guess pot odds are better with 1/2 pot, still your hand is a two outer draw...

1/2 yes, 2/3 is better to fold imo. But again, it all depends on villain and his tendencies, so always make notes and your decisions will be easier.

He has some bluffs and weaker hands so we can call OTF but his sizing is just so huge that we have to fold this hand. It doesn't matter if he bluffs us. If we start calling all of his shoves because he has some bluffs, suddenly we are calling with too wide range and losing money. You have better bluff catchers.

Ok i understand :f_biggrin:. But why aren´t we folding OTF then? Feels like we are investing 11 BB and hoping that Villain is checking OTT. His range is value-oriented here without further information. Should we call the shove OTT with KK, AA?

Lol. It is a 3 bet pot, the flop is not that connected for such pot and villainmin raises.... What worse is doing that? Flush draws?
I do not think so.
If we happen to call on flop, we are not obliged to call the turn too...

Villain's turn bet is not that suspicious. The board turned drawy (well, maybe not to a good hand reader), and he has just a PSB left. I'm gone.

What do you think about flatting preflop?

I think we might be just missing value and inviting other ppl to join the pot and we don't want to play this multiway imo :)

You can flat if BB is proven to be an active squeezer. As he is almost unknown, I prefer 3 betting.

What hand or range do you put him on after the flop, and after the turn? I find it hard to determine what hands are likely.
