Problem in this hand that you are playing against a nit that isn’t raising in his 16 previous hands. So, I would give him credit for a hand and K5o isn’t a great hand to defend with.

As played I would consider to fold the turn on his decent bet. You have top pair, but I don’t think he would bet 2 streets with less than top pair and his kicker will beat us always. The river is a fold for sure.

we are told that stats can be misleading and some of them need quite a sample to normalize but I think the 6/0 is a clear message (unless he was asleep).

To me the story could be different if he had UTG+1 stats for example. Here we have a nit raising / betting / betting / betting and we have a top pair with a bad kicker and we are early in the game. I would not feel comfortable to take that gable under these parameters.

So in this situation a tight fold PRE most probably is +EV in the longrun.
Easier said that done, so in real terms probably I could support the call PRE, even the call OTF but after that I think we are spewing chips & equity.

Call pre, then proceed with caution
I'd call the flop to see what he does OTT & then fold turn when he bets big.

I would have folded pre. K5o is not a good hand to defend against a supertight player.

Against a loose aggressive player you can call pre, call flop and then fold turn, definitely fold river.

Its so early in the game, if you decide to call a guy who has not raised any of his 16 hands then only proceed if you hit a monster. You dont want to finish in the 9th position with K5o in the 20/40 blinds. You still have many hands to play and get more information about all of the players giving you a longterm benefit of getting more precise stats and notes on them.

In all respect, I can agree that it's probably better to fold preflop, but I have to disagree to obsess with the stats so much.
16 hands means nothing. Maybe I started 5 tables with him and he was tight the first rounds? I'm just saying you guys can't assume soo much from 16 hands. Yes he might look tight, but 16 hands we can't tell anything from that except that he's not a loose player o a whale.

Beside if I start folding all the time when I got 1.5 BB to call I will get abused all the time in the bvb position. (Specially if he starts that circus early)

And I wasn't planning to go broke with K5o, still think Kx isn't that horrible to call 1.5 BB with. Then I can adjust on the flop.
I still don't think my call was horrible, folding is probably the best way, but I can see many players calling here for 1.5 BB.

You most likely played 10 hands on this table based on the other stats. So I don’t think he would play on 4 other tables with you on the same time. Maybe 1 of them, but if he’s indeed tight in the beginning his stats will change if you have more stats on him like steal stats.

I think after 16 hands you obviously dont have a solid read on how anyone plays, but you can get a general idea, and this villian does look tight but I still call pre & OTF though, hes going to cbet a lot of A high hands and PP on that paired board

Let´s see it from that view: You´re at the beginning of the Sit and Go, Blinds 20/40, you are still deep. There is no reason to risk your chips on a marginal hand like K5o. You can defend later, when the blinds are higher.

Especially low limit Sit and Goes require a lot of patience because many players will get eliminated and thus, your equity rises without playing a single hand.

That seems like a good answer to me. Defending with marginal hands in the early stage of 50c SNG’s isn’t +ev in the long run with so many fish in it.
