Afternoon all,

I used to be a regular here around 2 years ago and have slowly stopped playing poker for various reasons and I am to start back up again in the near future.

I've not followed the game at all for at least 1 year so I'm curious what's happened, how is the poker economy these days? Is the game easier, harder and where is poker heading in 2017?

The last I can remember was Poker had hit its high and was slowly losing its popularity, brands weren't sponsoring big names, providing high bonuses for grinders and generally catering to the casual player. I can see on PokerStars that there are 106k players online, I'm sure I remember it being circa 50k? So looks like they're doing something right.

So what's happening in the Poker world and what does 2017 have in store?

I just started playing again as well a couple weeks ago. I actually find poker a bit harder now. It seems like a lot of the fish have disappeared.. Or maybe I've just become a fish during my absence lol.

Welcome back!
What limits did you used to play and beat?
I would sum it up with:
- Poker markets regulated
- Worse RB
- Increase in rake
- Fish still exist and you can make a lot of money in poker
- Unless you play absolute highest stakes or anywhere from nl500+ zoom, nothing much changed in terms of hourly
- More dream machines available to public.

GL!

Welcome back :f_drink:

Agree with IvicaIliev77 on poker changes. I am enjoying some of the new formats like 'Win the button' and Spins and Go are interesting.

When you start poker again what format are you going to play? Looking forward to future posts.

Regards

Matt

Welcome back
Perhaps play on Poker Stars get more challenging every year, I don't play there, however some other rooms suggests plenty of fish material on micro and low limits :) Additionally new, faster poker tournaments formats introduced like Snap or Blast poker formats.
Good luck in new start.

Welcome back all I can say is poker becomes harder to play. Every day their are poker player becoming better and better so expect 2017 a much harder compare to 2016. Poker popularity is not losing but it still expanding.
