Hey everyone,

I've been away from poker for a very long time and I decided to come back last week. I worked my $25 bankroll up to $60 on pokerstars in the last week by playing mostly $1 spin and gos but I find it extremely unreliable. What is probably my best option for grinding my bankroll up? I used to play a lot of short stack on 1/2 or 2/5 but I kind of want to get away from that.

Any suggestions? What worked for you?

EDIT: Oh yeah I also wanted to know what are some good programs too, for NL Hold'em or SnGs etc, I've been out of the scene for a long time so I don't know what's good anymore.

I would choose a game that I would like to play the most with not much variance in play to improve my bankroll with only $60 in it. If you like to play cash games the most you can play on NL2 the big stack strategy (>100bb stacks) and if you are better in SST SNG’s you play the $1,50 regular speed SNG’s for example.

I think it’s smart to check out our poker tools page first and there you can find most interesting tools for cash and SNG players and then you can ask specific questions about a tool.

Hopefully helps this a little bit and if you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask them.

Cheers,

I decided to try out Jivaro since Pokertracker isn't running very well on my PC for some reason. I like it so far, but I'm not sure if it's as good as pokertracker is (or worth buying).

I think I've settled on trying out Fifty 50's. They seem like a consistent way of winning if you play tight, even though your profits may be marginal at first. I'm mainly just looking to grind up my bankroll reliably for the time being so I think this might be a good idea. Any opinions?

i think i would be playing some micro stakes cash games and zoom and try to exploit the weak players to maximum , some of them can drop 2-3 buy in quick being on tilt after un take em a buy in , 0.02 or 0.04 and good luck

Thanks for the reply spicy, but I really wanted to avoid micro stakes cash games for the time being. I'm just burned out from them.

In other news my bankroll is up to $115 now, I feel like I'm just getting lucky for the most part though.

Has anyone here played many spin n' gos? What is your opinion on them? I've played quite a few now and I just don't know if it's possible for someone at my level of play to make a profit from them.

you probably right about the spin n go , you willl need more skillz than ur oopponent in order to make profit , and also the prize variance can be a ev- in the long run i think, bink a copuple of 1$ mtt and you ll be on your way to crushing town

Hi Abhorrence,

Welcome back to poker :f_cool:

Alot of SNG and cash game players have changed to SpinGos as their main game, mostly cause it geting harder to beat those games with players geting better and higher rake. SpinGos attract alot of Recs/ fishes so i do think its possible make profit from them, true is variance can be painfull at the lower buyins with alot of fish pushing allin to often but in in long term i have no doubt that a decent player will be in profit.

You can allways take a look at https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2521863#post2521863 , there you can find some great motivation, advices from a SpinGo grinder.

Good Luck at the tables :gl:
