JJ SB v BB

SB: $2.00 (100.0 bb)
Hero (BB): $2.00 (100.0 bb)
UTG: $2.00 (100.0 bb)
MP: $2.00 (100.0 bb)
CO: $2.00 (100.0 bb)
BTN: $2.00 (100.0 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J♠: J♣:
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.05, SB raises to $0.15, Hero calls $0.15, BTN folds

Flop: ($0.39) A♥: 9♦: 3♥: (2 players)
SB bets $0.20, Hero ???

Thoughts?

First off think I should have maybe raised preflop. On the flop I think he either has an A or is just bullshitting. With it being SB v BB more inclined that he is just bullshitting. But if he does have an ace I only have 2 outs... If I call flop would I look to be folding on the turn if he bets again or just stick with it as a bluff catcher?

I wouldn’t care much of the BTN his range, but if you call here he would call most of the time and then you are playing 3 way post-flop out of position against a wide range. Also the SB his range is wide and you can easy 3bet JJ for value pre-flop.

As played I would most likely call 1 street on the flop and see what he will do on the turn, but most of the time I would fold it if he’s betting again on NL2. I don’t think a unknown will bluff to often or you have reads on him.

If we call we should be ready to give it up vs more bets.

I ended up calling 2 streets then it checked through to him having 66. I was thinking call one and leave but didn't believe the ace. Think in general I would normally call once and see.

Right, he either has the A or should represent it (because he can do so credibly). Calling once and then folding cannot be criticized. Calling more can be criticized to game theory grounds. You'll have plenty of Ax yourself.
