Among all hands that I have played today, this is probably the one for which I deserve being slapped the hardest...
How I hate playing shortstacked at the bubble with a donkey bigstack limping every hand, taking away all the pushing opportunities!
The SB had 47/0(!!!)) stats over 40 hands. In such situations I prefer becoming active to just folding myself to death. I think when the donkey open-completes in this spot it is almost on a 100% range but I might be wrong with that assumption.
After all, I managed to get it in a) as an underdog and b) against the bigstack. ICM-horror!!! It does not get any worse
On the other hand: The seat distribution in this bubble situation was really to my biggest disadvantage. Having position on the bigstack donkey, I was the only player with shorter stacks who could not push one single hand because the bigstacked donkey had always limped before. Then, my opponent in the big blind would often check it down and the passive bigstack donkey would also just check, thus donating extra chips to the BB in 50% of all times...
The only spot in which I could push was when bigstack donkey was sitting in the big blind - getting excellent odds to call me... That whole situation really sucked.
Therefore I felt that there were arguments beyond ICM that were in favour of a push in this situation.
I am looking forward to reading how you guys judge the situation.
