Same reason as when I bet flop. I was going to check behind the river tho.

in my opinion, this is good spot to exercise some pot control, i like flop bet i would X back turn and decide on the river. he can lead or check, if he leads it mostly depends on size and pot odds, if he checks you can decide to go to showdown or bet/fold. Fine is to B/X/X here i think

Sometimes in situations like that I bet again so I don't loose the initiative and I don't have to guess on the river. I think it is pretty bad.
I mean if I check behind the turn he is probably going to bet river and I will have to decide.

I guess it was a correct play. Even betting turn is ok. If hero is out of levelling hisself OTR than X behind turn also makes sense, but he don't know where do we stand and what to do vs river donk pot than betting turn makes sense.
