Why do you skip the flop cbet?

Imo it is a decent check OTF. We are out of position and our hand can be dominated. The board is dry and we don't mind that much if villain continues with his folding range.
In general I would cbet less when OOP and these weak top pairs work well as checks imo.

OTR his bet size is so small and villain is a recreational. I think he can be barreling weaker hands aggressively and overbluffing when you check the flop (because he is a fish and thinks you always have to cbet there  )

Fold preflop. What hands you 3bet preflop from SB? How would you adjust your plan with fish behind and villain IP opening 2,5 bb?

OTF as played you are against fish with TP in 3bet pot - easy bet flop and bet turn. 1,50 otf and rest on the turn. Any :club::club: , JT, 98, JJ, QQ are just part of his range that will call.

Here you are bluffcatching a fish, that is not expected to bluff much.

I agree with VaskataBuci. If you have these sorts of questions about postflop play, then don't 3-bet without solid value from the blinds - ever. A postflop screw-up can take 10-1000 successful steals to balance for (in terms of EV).

This is not a very dry board, especially not against a fish. The implication is that you have to play carefully. Keep the pot small. The best way to do that differs. It could be check-call or bet-fold on flop to begin with.

Board on flop is not dry, BU can call preflop with SCs, PP and on this board there are weaker hands that call...

I can agree that the board is not so dry especially vs a fish. There are weaker hands that will call but there are better hands also. I'm not super afraid of draws. Those weaker hands will call our delayed cbet.
As yohan said we might want to keep the pot small here, our hand is a bluff after all. I believe checking the flop is totally valid option. At least against decent players it would be better.

We have a TP hand in 3b pot. There are draws and on turn the board may get ugly. So why give free cards?
I prefer to cbet here.

1) we have a WEAK top pair in a 3bet pot
2) I'm not so sure how many draws there really are and I'm not sure if those will fold anyway
3) I don't really mind keeping villains folding range in play
4) we are OOP

What if we bet and villain calls. Do we then bet again? Do we check call? How easily villain can just outplay us there?

this 3bet looks atrocious. it's WAY too wide against pretty much any opponent, and the fact that BB fish can overcall you quite often only makes it worse...

as played, my reflex is to check/call the flop, but it's probably better to cbet against this particular opponent... close your eyes and bet enough on flop to ship most turns (this turn card is not the best, but could be worse) and expect to be dominated a few times.
as played to river, you have to call obv. not only can he be bluffing, now he can also be valuebetting worse - you might not win too often but should be more than 20%

About the 3bet:
For me it would be standard 3bet vs 2.5x open. But since villain is a fish I might not 3bet this.

Villian isn't even full stacked, there's no reason to 3bet this preflop. He could easily ship on us resulting in an even worse situation.

1. It is a 3b pot and TP is TP.
2. There are draws but I do not l8ke them to fold.
3. Ok...
4. So What?

Villain is shortstack and I don't mind playing it till the end.

Well since it is a 3bet pot, isn't our top pair more often dominated by better top pairs?
And it sucks to play OOP. We can bet and if villain calls we pretty much don't know what we can do next. Do we bet again and donate money to better Kx or do we check call? Or should we then check fold the turn? If the turn completes some draws, is villain more likely to bluff with his 88 if we check?

Maybe betting is ok too. But checking is not bad. I think it is as good or even slightly better.

Man, you are not reading what I wrote.. .
Villain can call not only with Kx here. He has JJ-TT, FD, SD, some hands that he likes...

Yes but we are OOP and this really affects our line. We are not going to use bet bet bet line here. At least I wouldn't.
I think x flop - delay turn and possibly bet the river OR xc flop and maybe xc turn too works better than betting the flop.
That is just my opinion.

Man, we have TP, it is a 3b pot and if you want you can go AI on turn.
What does it matter that we are OOP? You go AI on turn and position doe not matter.

Do you understand that there are too much action killers on turn?

No I don't understand that there are too many action killers. Nor would I plan to go broke OTT with TPNK in 3bet pot. Even against a recreational player.

The arguement is invalid because the preflop play shouldn't of happened.
BUT as played, you can't ask for much more with K5.

Betting the flop small is the best line here, and betting the turn even smaller then x/f.
X/c gives him the chance to lay you the price, we don't want to put much more money in, we don't want to induce any type of bluff or get blown off if he holds hand like 910 and bet bets it.
Plus we want to protect, betting small does all of this.

Super lucky river I would say, now you got there of course call. But I would probably fold the turn.
K5s is not that great to 3 bet with tho.
