It seems its about time to start some hand discussions over here. So I post this 5/10 hand from my database. The opponent in this hand is a TAG, but kind of rockish (Stats 13/10/1.9). Maybe he is a semi-rock, but it can also be possible that he just didn�t catch good cards that day.
I think the cap preflop must be right in this situation. The big blind doesn�t a huge pair for a 3- bet here. Then I bet flop, he didn�t fold, so he most likely has a pair on this flop.
I was afraid of the king, but I didn�t like to switch into check-call mode, so I bet the turn and got raised. Most likely the opponent has a King, but I thougt there was enough of a chance for hands like A9 or A7 to make a calldown the right play.
Then on the river, there was my sweetie, the 3rd T. As I read him for a king, Itried a check-raise to gain more bets from him. It worked out ok ( halfway at least, since he folded).
So how was the play of the hand ? Were the decisions of the 2 players correct or decent at least? My main concern here is the river check-raise.
Afterwards it doesn�t seem great anymore. A simple bet may well have been better ? A9 or A7 may well take the free showdown ? Did he throw away a king ? would you do the same in this situation? Would he throw it away, if the T were not of the flush suit ?
